I know, I know the true TMI topic but I am interested in any input. Mine has changed DRASTICALLY since being banded so much so that it is concerning... Anyone else care to weigh in??

Mine has also drastically changed - but in the other direction... I used to go only 2-3 times a week, if I was lucky. I also had issues where when I had to go, I had to go. Now I go about every other day, but it's a little harder - literally. I've tried Fiber, but you have to take like 5 pills in one serving and I already take all my other meds, makes it really difficult. I mentioned it to my doc and he said I won't go as much because I don't eat as much. My body is absorbing most of it for nutrition, but I need to make sure I am getting enough fiber in my diet. Good luck and let us know if you learn any secrets!

I had the same problem. I started using Miralax in one of my daily drinks....problem solved.

When I was on Atkins, I had the same problem as you. I purchased Miralax and it worked for me. I'm not banded until Aug 6, but I practiced ahead and I found if you steam veggies and then use blender to puree them it doesn't taste bad and this takes me back to regular.

Well, I'm having terrible trouble now, but I had rectal cancer and lost my rectum well after banding - so the problems i have now are due to that. However, once i got banded, I dropped from a daily kinda person to once every second day - you put less in and you get less out, simple as that. But I never had "trouble" in terms of Constipation, I just produced less.

Glad you are ok after rectal cancer! It runs in my family! I am a big advocate for regular colonoscopies. I was having some IBS type things at 30. They reluctantly did one and found two precancerous polyps! This year at 34, they found two more! I know our bodies change after this surgery, but know your family history and if something doesn't seem right and doesn't correct itself in time mention it to your dr.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
