Its very common to gain weight whilst u are going through the fills stage, until u get some level of restriction/ satiety u have to rely on willpower alone, this is the time to start learning how to eat healthy and follwoing the banded rules of chewing lots, eating Protein first keeping hydrated etc. My doctor warned me that i may put on weight at this time as it is common to do so, i chose not to by following a 1000 calories a day .. and exercising like mad :)

I gained five pounds between my first and second fill and let me tell you it scared the shitake out of me. I have since then started walking 30 minuets a day roughly 2 miles and it has helped. I was banded in March 2012 so I am still pretty new at this and have very little restriction after 3 fills, but hoping the 4th is a charm. Good luck and keep us posted. Dont get to down on yourself it happens to everyone.

I haven't had a fill yet, but I'm down from 265 to 247. Though my weight will flucuate between 247 and 252. Though in the morning it'll go down to near that 247 point. I can't wait until I get a good fill.

I gain weight through out the day I have learned to stay away from the scale and only get on the scale once or twice a week. If I gain weight I tend to cheat more.

Gaining weight throughtout the day makes sense as we eat and drink. If you must weigh yourself do it in the mornings with no clothes on. They say to weigh yourself once a week but I personally like to do it every morning and if I gain a little but I know it's Fluid and don't stress about it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
