difa reacted to jen_1381 in Afraid To Lose More WeightDon't limit yourself and your happiness on their behalf. Your friends should love you no matter what you look like. Maybe you losing weight is making them consider their life choices. The fact of reality is that people change, always. I expect my friends to embrace the change, as I do with all of their life changes.
This journey can be super tough, as you probably know, and that's why it's SO important to surround yourself with positve, supportive people.

So I had my surgery yesterday and everything went great! better than expected, I'm in a lot less pain that I thought I was gonna be. Of course I'm taking percocet so that helps a lot. tomorrow I'm going back to work

difa reacted to ☠carolinagirl☠ in Still Full After 6 Hours!i know some swear by 3 meals a day only. i do eat my 3 meals but also eat my healthy Snacks (so i am not hungry) you must eat so you wont be hungry. in the morning for example i am not hungry but i drink my shakes and have a little scoop of oatmeal because if i dont, by lunch time i will be ravenous.
you must feed your body. Protein is the fuel you need.
ps- if you let yourself get too hungry, you may over eat (and choose bad foods to satisfy you).
pps-never go over 1 cup of food total at any meal.

difa reacted to cheryl2586 in Unfill To Lose WeightEveryone thinks tight is a good thing but its not. If you over eat the food has no where to go but up into the esophagus. I only have 3 cc's in a 10cc band havent had a fill in over a year and am still slowly losing. This wil make my third year being banded in December. Just because we have the band doesnt mean the lower portion of the stomach is not working. It is very much working and if its not getting any food you will not be satisfied and always feel hungry.

difa got a reaction from kll724 in Unfill To Lose WeightI agree with your doctor. You can definitely be OVERFILLED.

difa got a reaction from Thats All Folks in High Protein/low Fat Foods...In the morning I usually have a couple services of low fat cottage cheese with a little bit of sea salt in it.

difa reacted to Thats All Folks in High Protein/low Fat Foods...I'm a big fan of low fat cottage cheese. Greek Yogurt is also an excellent choice.
Tuna is also a good one. I mix it with a wedge of Babybel light cheese instead of mayo.
chicken breasts, pork chops (just don't cook them in a super fatty sauce or breading)

difa got a reaction from ☠carolinagirl☠ in AhhhhhhhSo I just had my first fill and got 3cc. Woohoo

difa got a reaction from ☠carolinagirl☠ in AhhhhhhhI had a protein shake after getting my fill and it reminds me just after surgery how I could feel everything empty out of the pouch....I LOVE THAT FEELING!
-
difa got a reaction from ☠carolinagirl☠ in AhhhhhhhI must say this. I had my surgery done by Dr. Stan Hoehn. Great surgeon. I had my first fill by Dr. Hamilton. I was hoping Dr. Hamilton was liberal on the fills because I had a hunch Dr. Hoehn was fairly conservative based on my wife who was banded last late october. I consider 3cc's fairly liberal, and I'm guessing I'll get another 3cc's next month. I'm hoping to be down 50lbs by end of december.

difa got a reaction from ☠carolinagirl☠ in Ahhhhhhh24 hrs soft to liquid for me. I felt a tiny bit of needle pain but thats in. Doc told me in a month he could give me more than this time...that i should def feel restriction aftet the next fill

My first fill was 2cc, and I didn't really feel much different. My second fill of 2cc (bringing me to 4cc) was the Ah-ha moment that let me know this was going to work. As for pain, you get a needle poked into your stomach. It's nothing much really. My last fill was 100% pain free, but strangely I bled afterwards. My other fills were more uncomftorable, but no bleeding..
After fills, my Dr recommends 48hrs liquid, then a day of mushy before going back to a regular diet.

difa reacted to Cooper123 in New Guy In The Group !!!Hi everyone !
It's great to find this site, to share good and bad expreriences, but that's what support means.
I'm scheduled to have my surgery this Monday July 23rd, 2012 and even though I am a little worried about the challenges ahead I am also very excited about the positive turn that my life is gonna take.
I hope we can share our journeys together.
