  6. If you want to see depressing just search these forums as well. You act as if the lapband doesn't have its fair share of problems theres tons of dissapointed people on here. I was just offering my experience and leaks are VERY rare. People who are curious I was just offering them an option. I am 100% happy and have had 0 complications and so do most of the people who have had the sleeve. There's complications with everything but at least it is life long and not a contious worry if you're leaking or if it's slipped.

  12. Hi Everyone I haven't been on here for a long time. It's mainly because I've been discouraged. I'm now 9 months out and have only lost 2 pounds in the last 3 months. It's like my body has gotten used to the small amount of food that I'm eating and won't let go of anymore. I probably eat 1000-1200 calories a day. I also exercise daily but it won't budge. Is there anyone else out there who is experiencing this as well? I'm really down about it.
  13. Well, it's been about 3 weeks since I last posted this and I only stayed at 179 for a day. I'm still at 181 and I can't get the scale to budge only one pound up or down. I'm trying to realize that if this it and I can't lose anymore I should be happy although it's still very discouraging! Maybe I shouldn't have introduced carbs into my diet but I work out everyday and I find it hard to keep a balance. When I work out I'm definately hungrier and it's harder to control my apetite.
  14. Thanks for the responses! After I realized I wasn't alone I hit 179 today!
  15. I am just now 6 months. I have been in the 18os for over 2 months now. I have been going up and down the same 3 lbs for atleast 5-6 weeks. Has anyone stalled this long? I think that I may be at a point that my body won't let go of anymore of my weight. I'm curious to know how long you guys have stalled?
  16. Weight before surgery 247 Date of surgery march 14,2012 Current weight 182 Goal weight for competition175 I'm going to go for a moderate goal as I failed the labor day one horribly
  17. wow so now I can have hope! How is your exercise like? I only do it about 3 days a week. Are you still losing?
  18. I'm 183 and I've been in the 180s for over 1 month and a half. How long did it take you to get into the170s? or how long have you been in the 180s? I don't know if my weight loss has just completely slowed down or if this is just a hard number to break!

  20. obviously im talking to people who are having issues if thats not you why comment and move on to the next doesnt my post say for people thinking about converting? i go on the other forum as well why tell me i cantc come here? ive had lots of people message me with questions who are thinking of convrting
  21. The title of this topic was "for anyone debating to convert to the sleeve" I'm not on here to bash everyone with the band. I'm just here to help others who are thinking about converting. There are hundreds of us on the vertical sleeve talk forum who have converted and love it. If you don't like what I have to say then you don't have to read it. As stated by OTR sleever above...it has been around longer then 10 years so there is enough data to prove that it keeps the weight off longer then the band.
  22. I was banded on AUgust 2011 and had it removed in February 2012. I was then sleeved on march 14 with a weight of 240. I am now 5 months post op and currently weight 184. It's not that huge of a success but when I started with the lap band I weighed 281 so in a year I've lost almost 100 lbs with the two surgeries. I think that is why I tend to lose a little slower because I've already been losing for 7 months before thsi surgery. I couldn't have made a better decision. I am completely happy because now I feel naturally full and I don't feel like I'm having a heart attack when I eat something that will get stuck. I was scared to convert to the sleeve but now I wish I would have done it in the first place. I'm still overweight but still losing and I'm confident that I will get to my goal of 145 by my one year anniversary from the sleeve. If you have any other questions feel free to message me.
  23. 184 this week that's 1 lb a week still haha but better then nothing
  24. Sorry for the ugly face my boyfrien doesn't know how to take pictures haha he just takes them and doesn't wait for me to get ready. The first pic is the newest the second one is about 3 months and the one on the right is one week after surgery.
