I was banded on wed june 6 and I have been light headed and blurred vision for the past two days has anyone else felt this way? I have really been drinking a lot of fluids and I stopped my pain meds because I thought it was related to this.

ChubbyGal-I was banded on the 4th and have been having some issues with light headedness and no energy. I am so over feeling this way. I have had no issues with the surgery at all but the lack of energy is killing me. I am getting in my protein and almost all my water. Last night I had arm and leg cramps so bad so I plan to drink like a fish today to see if that changes. I also am going to up my iron to see if that helps. Hang in there thats all I am doing but know that you are not alone.

I was banded yesterday with Dr Elli. I got the stomach shot for the blood thinner and didn't even feel it. The iv went in easy, I had great nurses!!! I woke up felt sore and nauseous but they gave me medicine to fix both. I was up in a chair pretty fast and turn walking around. The ice packs really help my soreness!! So keep those around. I have 2 1/2 incisions. Last night when.I was home I had sips of water and broth and a popsicle. Today I've had water and might try broth later, just not hungry. My families have been helping with my dogs. I have had no shoulder pain from the gas and walking around seems to keep any gas to a minimum. Also the alcohol prep pads are AMAZING for nausea. Over all it just feels like I did 1000 crunches lol good luck everyone!!!

hi alleykat, I live in edmotnon, alberta and i am flying to toronto. I am being banded thur the surgical weight loss centre on june 29. well my mom and i r both getting it done at the same time.

Oh how exciting to have someone in real life to go through it with you! I hope you both have much success!

It's so good to see some of you on the other side of this thing... I hope everyone gets feeling better and still counting down the days for us Juney's that haven't started yet!

I was wondering if you all were told to keep drinking protein shakes right after surgery. That is something I don't remember being mentioned by my Dr.s. I'm only two days post op but I am not getting any protein on the clear liquid diet.

I was told I would be on clear liquids nor the first three days post op then on full liquids. The PA did say it would be hard to get proteins with that, but to begin with protein shakes when I begin full liquids.

Hey everyone. Hope u are all doing well....I had my surgery on the 6th and I still feel so wiped. I have no energy I have been getting in my protein maybe not all but definitely more than half. My fluids are definitely being drank. Idk I had Lapland w plication and hiatal hernia repair. Could this be why? Just more surgery? Some of you seem to be back up to par already.

almost a week into my pre op diet...not as bad as i thought but still ..the weekend is tough..everyone is going out and wants me to come and I am willing to try (with my protein shakes in hand) but the temptations are everywhere! June 18th is my surgery date...cannot wait!

I was allowed protein shakes during the clear phase even though they weren't clear. They were just powder and milk though no fruit etc.

If you are having trouble with the shakes post op perhaps water them down so they are even thinner.

I think today is the first day I actually feel good. :) not much pain and the gas is finally gone: ) yay!!!! Down 13 lbs since I started pre post last Sunday: ) I've realized why drinking slowly and taking small sips is so important..... It's really weird to not beable to gulp down water anymore. so happy to be on the other side of this.
