I have a question about my incisions for those of you who have been banded... I have 5 (I thought there would be 4) and each one is a different size, one is about an inch long, the others a half inch or smaller, is that normal? I never thought I would have one that big?? I was told I wouldn't have any scaring but I'm pretty sure that big one will leave a scar... Just want to make sure I'm not the only one??

Hi! My 5 are similar to yours---no worries. I just came back from my 1-week visit with the doctor and he did not state anything was wrong with incision size.

I feel like such a fool. I ate the week 3 foods for the first week and now there is a swelling below my right breast....perhaps I stretched the band or something. I go tomorrow for the first visit after the May 7th banding. I am going to get bitched at, no doubt. It is important to follow your doctor's orders week by week.

Just got back from my 1-week follow-up visit with the doctor. It was the PORT swelling below my right breast. I did not stretch anything! All is good. The only problems I am having is shortness of breath due to my smoking habit, which I intend to stop soon. I am so glad that I did not do anything wrong (except not skim the soups). WHEW. I am now on mushy foods with the size of the food to be compared to small curd cottage cheese. This I can do! Thanks everyone for listening and for your replies!

Surgery tomorrow @ 7:30am. Down 16lbs since liquid diet started. Very grateful for that. Good luck to all who is scheduled tomorrow.

Same here! I don't know how I'm not cheating, maybe it's because of all the compliments I'm getting lol

I am a little curious if the ones that are hungry did the full two week liquid diet before surgery.

Wondering if that makes a difference.

I sure hope that I can hold out afterwards, I am getting weak now. Of course, I have been doing Protein shakes and one meal for about 6 weeks now trying to get weight off before surgery. Which by the looks of it now could be delayed cause the weight just isnt coming off fast enough

Good news is that I got my insurance approval today. I was going to have the surgery approval or not but it sure is good knowing that I wont have to pay the total cost.

Just had my 1 week post op check up. She said everything looks normal and I got a more thorough diet plan for the next couple wks. I am eating yogurt right now - Yummy! Never thought I'd be so grateful to eat just simple Greek yogurt and soup.

Not eating all I'm allowed. Sometimes I can't type. Lol oh and I've not cheated once.

It's really nice to hear someone tell you if anyone can do it you can. My husband has a lot of faith in me n I'm so blessed to have him.

I would like to get to 155 lbs still a little more than my ideal weight for my height but that is good for me. I'm gonna try take it small increments. For now my goal is gonna be 270. Im still on my pre diet n so far I've lost 16.6 lbs. I'm super excited. I'm at 292 down from 308.6

Hello All,

I had my procedures this morning, May 14th. Banded Plication, Gallbladder removal, and hernia repair...doing very well. My surgery lasted about 90 minutes. I am actually surprised I feel so well...expected it to be much, much worse. Only some discomfort..minor gas issues. I am on liquid Lortab and Phenergen for pain and nausea.

Good luck and best wishes to all !

Nita

Wow... I am so amazed at all of the stories and the courage you all have. I am really glad I joined this group before my surgery. Scheduled for May 29th and am waiting for the official approval althoug phone approval has been obtained. Keep doing what you are doing!!

I had my lap-band May 9th' date='2012[/quote']

I'm having my lap band on the 17, two days from now left. I'm a little nervous about the whole thing....but also somewhat glad it will be done with....???
