Banded Yesterday

Was banded at 10:30am yesterday. I feel pretty great today, actually!! After getting home till I went to sleep I had some stiffness in my chest so I walked around the house and breathed in deeply and that went away (mostly) by this morning. Other than that, I'm hardly in any discomfort. I'm very excited about my new life and so far!!

I had a sore throat, but I figured it was either from possible tubing from surgery, the acid reflux from the hiatal hernia repair, or just simply the fact I was so dehydrated. I coped with Halls Breezers fruit pectin drops, to at least sooth and have some salvia going on.

My surgery was yesterday April 16th. So far doing okay...I have a sore throat. Did this happen to anyone else? I didn't expect this...

I was also banded 4/16 and I fee great. No sore throat and the gas pains have been minimal. I feel pretty great. No shoulder pain either.

Does anyone have any suggestions for soups? The chicken broth I had was not very good....

Thanks...I am having alot of gas as well...my stomach keeps rumbling! This is much harder than I ever thought it would be....ughhhh!!!!

I had my band on the 17th.. Still feeling uncomfortable... they found a hiatal hernia and repaired that. I had a reaction to the paid meds so only taking tylenol... the gas is prob the worse pain I think... Trying to find some creamy soups to have... Also been drinking protein drinks, popsicle, and crystal light. Hoping to feel better tomorrow.

So enjoy your soup for me. I'm not really hungry, just empty feeling. And I'd buy a fart if I could get one. Dang it's uncomfortable.

A heating pad will help with the gas pains as well as getting up and walking as much as possible. Jello is also good for clear liquids as well.

Heating pad has helped. My doc has me on miralax, milk of mag and enemas too. It gets me temporary relief. Im guessing I have a touch of an ileus. I think tomorrow will be a better day.

I am on day 4 of post op. and I was hoping this morning the pain would subside some. Can anyone tell me how long before the discomfort from moving goes away?

I had my surgery on April 13 which was a Friday and by Thursday I was feeling 100% better. When I woke up I had a sore feeling near my port but I just put an ice pack on it and it went right away.

I am still sore also and had mine on the 17th. I guess we just have to give it some time.
