    Update Us!

Hi April bandsters! How is everyone doing? I'm happy to report 41 pounds down. I'm almost in the green zone. Recently started exercising and it's helping me lose nicely. So glad I did this!

    Port Revision Surgery

No I've been banded 4 months, no problems but best wishes to you. I'd say rate of fills would depend on your doc. Mine is so conservative with fills and others it seems put in several ccs at a time

    Looking For Fitbit Friends

I have had my fitbit for about 60 days now. I noticed this AM when I synced that I've lost 10 pounds in that time. I love the thing. I'd love to be your friend! I'm Samsawmom

    Liver Shrinkage

I had a big liver on my surgery date. I wasn't required to lose pre op but followed the liquid diet for three days before surgery, so I only lost a few pounds. My band was still placed. In hindsight I wish I had tried harder to shrink it, when he told me about my liver in recovery I was embarrassed. But like I said, they can still place them. Good luck everyone!

    How Much Protein?

I mix my AM coffee with a pure protein shake and by the end of the day I average about 80g of protein. I was told to get at least 60g per day.

    Goodbye 280S... Hello 270S Yay!!!

I went down a scrub size recently too! I looooove it
  8. You've done so well! Any pieces of advice?
  9. She states in the beginning that she had a hard time finding a doc to place the band, being at a normal BMI. Her situation certainly is different from mine and everybody else I know in the banded world. I imagine situations like this are more prevalent than we realize. Not the complication though. I don't know of anyone with a BMI of 18 with a band port but I can imagine that an abdomen thats sunken in like that could have port issues.

    Fit & Active Products

I think they're great! I actually bought some stuff today from Aldis, the only place I know of to get Fit and Active. It's a great way to restrict calories so it's got to work!

I'm Samsawmom. MFP is what keeps me in line. I love it!
  12. I'm 3 months post op and have been feeling fatigued, mildly dizzy when I stand. After lots of blood tests it seems the culprit is just dehydration. Im just not drinking enough. It's so hot here in the Midwest, that's not helping. I haven't started a structured exercise program either. Good luck

    Annoyed !

The person who said you were going to die, do they work in a healthcare setting too? They said ignorant, I hope not! I work in a hospital and to my face, everyone has been nice as pie and getting banded seems like its getting more popular. 3 coworkers are currently preparing for surgery. Good luck!

    High Protein/low Fat Foods...

Some Greek yogurts are better than others I'm finding. Aldis has a Greek yogurt, pineapple flavored. It's my favorite. Maybe Greek yogurt is an acquired taste?

    Help!!

I'm almost 3 months postop, not at restriction, 3rd fill is next week. I've been feeling fatigued and some dizziness when standing for a few weeks now. My doc ordered every blood test out there and everything came back fine. I don't think my symptoms are as severe as yours but they are telling me to drink more water too. The quote I got was, "not enough water makes you feel like a wet dishrag". Agreed. Today I peed like every other hour and it's very pale (TMI sorry) whereas before this week I peed a few times a day and it was amber. Does this sound like you? I've never had hydration issues before, it's frustrating.
  18. And Biotin for hair loss. It's over the counter
  19. Will you be able to get a PNV through? They are so huge. I take vita fusion gummies two a day. I hear that not all docs recommend them because they too can get stuck but I've had no problems.
  20. Me too, got banded two months ago and I have little restriction. I'm hoping my third fill in a couple weeks helps because im beginning to think my inner fatty's hunger will never be squelched. Maybe we should all check back in three months?

    Nausea: Is This Normal?

I have had zero nausea as well, post op 2 months, but I've heard of others who take anti nausea meds for the first week or two after surgery. I guess it's normal then?
