I have another question. Does everyone have the weird feeling right in the middle of their stomach and sometimes it's hard to take a deep breath? I'm assuming it's where the band is but not sure. Just want to make sure everyone has this issue and will it go away?

I occasionally have this but usually when I am up and have been on my feet being active for quite some time. I figure it is my body telling me it is time to rest. What I am finding weird is how I can feel the port move when I get up from a sitting position.

So loving this lap band journey and it is only the begining. I started my pre-op diet on February 20th at 242lbs. Had surgery on March 5th and today I currently weigh......221.. 21lbs down and loving it!!! :D I have my family reunion in June and hoping to look a lot different. I have only told 2 of my sisters and my sister in law so I am super excited. Hope the weight continues to come off.......

Newme2012: how are you feeling now? I was banded on the 8th and still a little sore but I just feel blahhh! The weird "I wanna burp and it makes it to the top on my stomach then stops!" feeling is driving me nut! did you have that?

I'm nervous about my date on 3/20/12. What has everyone done to prep for this? I'm excited to start taking the steps into a new healthy life. I have a 1 year-old and I want to be around for him and active in his life. I'm sooo grateful to have found this site, it makes me feel like I have so much support and that I will accomplish this!

I wasn't told to measure anything just to make sure I was sipping all day. I need to make sure I do the Protein Shakes. I'm have a lot of gas pain tonight and thankful for those Gas-X strips!

I wasn't old to measure either but they want me to drink at least 3, 3-4oz shakes a day. I feel like I can barely get them down. I had my procedure on the 7th and have only been able to drink 2 a day. I have also been doing benefiber since yesterday since no BM either. Ugh.

Della, I tried to get in at least 60-70 grams of Protein a day via Protein Shakes. If i got way too hungry I would drink some crytal light. But sometimes I feel like I needed something to chew. I make a caesar salad of only romaine lettuce and low carb caesar dressing. That did the trick. Sometimes I would also have about 1/2 can of tuna with a little mayo since it was also protein. Don't eat any bread, potatoes or carbs though during this pre-op diet. That will set you back.

judych, you are going to do awesome. I am not sure how each physician makes their decision on what restrictions to put their patients on, it is quite interesting. I'm not sure when I will get my first fill, I really hope it is on my post op visit, but not sure

hi Carla... its so good to read how positive and encouraged you are by the banding.. you will do great as well. Thanks for the encouraging words for me.

it is exciting and its a huge step to take. How long have you been leading up to this surgery?? a year?? 6 months??

ive only been on this path about six weeks. lol. in a way its a heck of a lot of mind sets to change, and dealing with surgery as well, all in that time.

.. prior to my seeing my specialist last week, i really had no idea whether i would even qualify as far as he was concerned. my g.p. was positive but i didnt know how it would turn out.

then to have my consult with him and know that it was happening within two weeks?? wowzie.. lol.

im sure you know exactly what i mean.

Im just so glad i found this forum when i did...i joined on here weeks before i saw my specialist. its from here ive learnt and gotten positive encouragement and i think thats everything. without being on here i dont think i would have opted to have it done. way too soon, if you know what i mean. Too big a shock for me.

i would have known nothing about it except for that consult over the desk with the surgeon. its about much more than just a few moments talking about it in a consult, thats for sure.

yes, im positive, but scared all the same. i know that each one of us has a different story to tell. we are all unique in the way out bodies and minds work. its going to be a really fascinating and positive road that we travel down now.

im so glad to have met everyone here. eventually i will know everyone by name and where they live. im looking forward to establishing great friendships here. gotta close now. hugs everyone.

Yes, think about how wonderful you are going to look when this is all done. That was my motivation on my pre-op. You have come this far, you can do this, stay focused. Find things to occupy your time.

You are going to do great. The first few days are rough especially if you have family that you have to cook for like I do. Stay strong it is worth it in the end.

Thanks Karla, fortunately it's just me at home, thank goodness I don't have to cook for anyone! LOL My team at bowling ordered pizza last night, that was a bit tough at first smelling that! But I just had my Protein Drink and was fine. Phew!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
