I haven't been on here for awhile and just read the last 20 pages that I have missed. Phew!

I also notice the left shoulder pain when I am getting full. Kinda neat as a cue to stop eating but mostly really annoying! My first fill will be on 4/27. I have some restriction. I can eat soft foods and have tried a few items today that would be considered solid. So far so good.

I am also on MFP. Feel free to add me: iluvyogi

I haven't been on in a while myself. Was banded march 1. I have noticed the pain in the left shoulder as well. Kinda cool I think. Not the pain but the secret little signals.

Is MFP an ap? I have been using an ap called my net diary. It's ok I'll check out MFP

Everyone is different. Some feel restriction right away and others don't until several fills later. I started feeling a tiny bit of restriction after my first fill about 3 wks out. I had my 2nd fill on Monday and by Thursday I could tell a difference especially since I had my first stuck experience eating almonds.

Last night was my first real challenge. I went out to dinner with a few of my coworkers and they don't know I had the surgery. We were all talking and having a nice time that no one even noticed I only ate 2 pieces of shrimp and 1 rib.. (Talk about WAY less amount) Before' date=' I would have eaten the whole meal and then some.[/quote']

Almonds got me into a little trouble too. Maybe cause they are a little dry.

Is anyone else here scared of the scale. I was weighing in once a week now I'm too scared to get on the scale. I eat below 1200 cal and workout daily, use a pedometer to see how well i'm doing, burn around 300-500 cal day. This is so frustrating with dieting the scale hardly move so guess I'm still in that frame of mind or could it be that I'm just scared I want lose any weight? this is my biggest nightmare. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

ready for change- I know how it feels...everone is different when it comes to weight loss. I know I'm not "average" when it comes to calorie intake, but I won't loose a pound at 1200 calories. That is what I consumed prior to surgery for YEARS and would slowly gain about 1/2 a pound a month back. Have you measured yourself, maybe you are loosing inches?

I can't remember how long ago it was you had your surgery, but If you continue not to loose weight you might consider lowering your calories a little until you find your magic number. I'm actually on between 800-900 calories now and still only loosing about 1-2 pounds a week.................that was until this week and the darn scale won't move...grrr.

Hang in there.....with a couple of fills we will get there.

march banders, I read these posts daily and find a lot of support here. I wanted to respond to a few concerns and questions. I was banded 3-/21.At first apt I was242 and now 221. 7 lbs before surgery and 13 after. My first fill is Monday. If I eat nuts without anything else I feel discomfort for a minute. This has happened twice(almond, pecans) I can have them with Cereal and milk with no problem. When I have eaten my limit, I know because of burping unless I am eating mushy foods, then no burping. I still have problems following rules like chewing and eating slowly, only eating 3meals. I am sure as band is filled this will be even more important. my weight loss seems to have stalled for a week. I want quicker results but I am 60 and can not exercise so for me, slow loss is still good. so far I am very pleased with my choice to have the band but as I read about the longer term complications and band removals, I hope I am a lucky one. I for the first time I went to a restaurant to eat out. i had a small bowl of chili and crackers, it was fine. this was such an important step for me because I can now socialize in a restaurant with friends and I was not sure before I could handle food choices.

Hey... I too feel this way but I also remember what Dr. Reilly told me... Not to get depressed and caught up on losing pounds.. I'm doing the same thing and I have lost many inches I could now fit in 14 was a 18 at surgery.

My Fitness Pal is an app as well as a website. I use it daily to keep track of my food ( Protein, carbs, fat, sodium, sugar) as well as exercise, progress and see how everyone else is doing. It's another place for support ;)

Hello all!!! HAPPY 1 MONTH BANNIVERSARY for all my surgery twins!!!! I can't believe a month has already passed! So far SO GREAT!!!! Very very pleased with my decision!

Had my first fill today! Shockingly, my band was NOT filled at the time of surgery. Which I really thought it must have been, as I have felt very much restricted this whole time! Anywhoo, got 3ccs put into my 10cc band. Hoping the lbs will now start falling off again b/c it had been at a complete standstill once I started mushies n then solids.

Well, have a great evening, my March Bandsters!!!! <3

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
