Was banded yesterday. Came home the same day. Feeling pretty great. Just having slight gas pain now. Which I had originally had as I woke up from anesthesia. But I was given painkillers and it went away. Got Gas-X' date=' so far I'm not sure if it is really helping. [/quote']

That gas pain is a killer!!!

I got my first fill this past Monday. I feel a little restriction and should start with solid foods tonight for dinner. I only got 1cc of Fluid in and have an appointment for 2 weeks to see if that's enough or I need more.

Everyone is different. Some feel restriction right away and others don't until several fills later. I started feeling a tiny bit of restriction after my first fill about 3 wks out. I had my 2nd fill on Monday and by Thursday I could tell a difference especially since I had my first stuck experience eating almonds.

Last night was my first real challenge. I went out to dinner with a few of my coworkers and they don't know I had the surgery. We were all talking and having a nice time that no one even noticed I only ate 2 pieces of shrimp and 1 rib.. (Talk about WAY less amount) Before, I would have eaten the whole meal and then some.

Hi everyone...

I had my surgery 3/12/12 and my first fill on 4/10/12. Fill went great and incisions are healing really well. A couple of things I did learn were:

1. Eat on a saucer plate.

2. Eat Proteins first because once you start feeling your restriction, it gets harder and harder for more food.< /p>

3. My hiccups at each meal are because I'm eating too fast.

4. Watch out for broccoli because it can give gas and be uncomfortable.

5. Milk should be soy due to added sugars in the others even fat free skim.

6. Wait 45 seconds between each bite. (Haven't been doing well on this one.)

They gave me a progression chart of weight. For the first three months-want me to try and lose 8-9 lbs. Each of those three months. After that, it will be more difficult the smaller you get. They showed my plan for reaching my goal weight in 24 months.

True Results requires a visit every 4 weeks for the first year to check on my progress.

Hey Larch thank you so much for the helpful tips. I wrote them down in my food journal. I have my 1st fill on 4-20 kinda nervous considering my incision has gotten infected so bad that my dr had to call in a antibiotic for me to take for 10 days. So im hoping that I have healed by then....

Yes, it sure was!!! But it does go away, thankfully! Just walk n walk n walk. Whenever u have a bout go for a 10, 15 minute walk n chew on a tablet of Gas-X. Good luck!!!

Good question! I've only lost 14 pounds since March 9th. :( I am starting to feel restriction and the amount I eat is a lot loss than before. Its disappointing to not see the scales moving down.

You guys are probably not getting enough food. Increase you calories a bit....log your calories so you have concrete proof. When working out you are burning more fuel...you have to eat to lose weight. Don't want your body going into starvation mode. 7 weeks post op it sounds like your body is adjusting to shock and so it's time to tune up your eating. Change things up! :-) give it another shock! Haha

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
