I'm Confused?

Recommended Posts

I just had lap band surgery on Wednesday. The week before i was on liquids and blended Soups and veggies. They weighed me in at the hospital I had lost a little over a pound the week before and then a day after surgery it says I gained 3#'s. What is going on? That seems strange considering all I had at hospital was ice and IV Fluids and then yesterday I only had OJ in a small cup, ice cubes and a fudgecicle no sugar added and only 45 calories and a little bottle of Water.< /p>

Has this happened to anyone after surgery and could it have to do with the bloating since surgery?

Its not unusual to not lose weight after surgery everything slows down including your metabolism, u tend to retain some fluids from the iv and ofc bloating. I have had IBS for a long time and i know when i am bloated i lose no weight at all .. to be honest it drives me nuts. sad.png

Since you were banded not long ago I would not worry about the scale. Your body is in flux (as I like to call it) due to the surgery and post-op diet. All kinds of goffy things are going to happen until you are back to normal. Take this time to heal, start off some easy exercise, and get ready for a lifetime of change. The scale will start to move soon enough.

FLUID! Give yourself about a week of scale free time. Follow the docs instructions and all will be fine. Your body is reacting to being cut and a forgein object inserted.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
