Sounds like you close to green zone but not yet there. Not sure if you had fills yet but I go in and out of that green zone area a lot before and after fills I've only had two fills which is pretty good since I was banded 12/22/11 I have lost 55 lbs so far. I get very tight after fills I only have 3.5 cc s in a 10 cc band so far

Be patient give your self time to heal. It is very important to follow dr orders on diet. This is time your band is setting in place the stitches holding the band in place are healing the stitches keep your band from sliping. So blend what eat and follow dr orders hang in there!

Dropping-weight don't get to worked up on how fast you loose wt or that others maybe loosing faster. Everyone is different and lots of people don't really start dropping the real wt until after a few fills. If you listen to some of 3 + yrs people several say it took them several fills to really start loosing wt. just don't want u to get down on your self if and a big if you don't loose as fast as someone else. I've been at a plateau for awhile and knw it can be hard not get caught up on other wt lose.

I get that feeling fairly often it's like I'm getting stuck it happens even with yogurt sometimes I stop and start again a do get stuck. I'm at what I call my grn zone and this is good restriction for me. I follow a high protein low carb diet but it feels a little like I swallowed a rock with first few bites. I take it as a sign to and not get stuck

Huuuuugggggsssss! I think all women feel that way sometimes. Now take 5 mins. and cry. Then go wash your face and try it again. Think of how we are going to look and feel when we stay on the path of this journey. You are not alone.

The first thing you need to do is contact insurance ask them to mail you all requirements for bariatic surgery I'm glad I did this because on the phone after they said they didn't cover it two times my dr called and they no we don't cover it I called told them had sent me a packet and the next time my dr called they said yes we cover it. This was the approval just stating that they do cover barbaric surgery. It helps to have everything in front of you in writing on all requirements. Good luck. It takes a little effort since they hope you'll give up.

I am fighting through it since I don't want to go back to it. They are like quiting smoking if I start again I may not beable to cotrol it. I drank diet soda buy they do cause you to crave food. I have had a ginger ale on ice. My Dr said I could have one just on ice allowing bubbles to exscape. Not everyday.

twi reacted to Cocoabean in What Does Being "stuck" Feel Like?
Stuck feels like you just swallowed a rock. The rock is now sitting at the base of your sternum. It can be pain or pressure. If you experience that, STOP EATING. Wait until the sensation passes before trying more food. Putting more food on top of stuck food just increases the pain. Don't drink anything, that won't help either. If you swallow a couple big gulps of liquid, the stuck item is likely to come back up.
Your pouch grinds trying to force the item through. That can get very painful. Your body produces a very thick mucous in an attempt to help the item go down. As the way down is blocked the mucous comes up, and out, in the form of slime. The sliming will not stop until you are unstuck.
Ah the joys of banded life. But really, oh so very worth it.

I was watching this show called Fat Chef where obese people in the food industry try to lose 25% of their body weight in 16 weeks. This one woman Maggie was just full of excuses and had no accountability whatsoever. She told her nutrition consultant that she was eating 2-3 slices of pizza for dinner at night and ate soft serve ice cream constantly. Later in the show it was revealed that she was hiding her Lap Band surgery from everyone. She got really mad for some reason and said "I don't want to be some kind of role model for Lap Band...it didn't work for me." Ok, really?! First of all, if you are able to eat 3 slices of pizza in a serving, something is terribly wrong. Not to mention all that ice cream wasn't doing her any favors. People like her make the rest of us who use the Lap Band correctly look bad. It just really irks me. It's clear she wasn't psychologically ready for it and I wonder what doctor in his right mind would give someone like that a Lap Band. If you aren't ready to change your lifestyle and work with the band and not against it, don't have the surgery. Period.
    Ok, rant over :-)

twi reacted to B-52 in My Story......
First, I have learned to say that "Everyone Is Different" and you all have your own ideas and philosophies. But this is MY Story.
Surgery to Week #4 Lost weight...who couldn't? With 4 weeks of liquids, mushies, gas pains, itchy incisions, etc, etc.
Week #4 to #8 Got my first fill,...4cc's, and NOTHING! What I did get, since I was all healed and recovered from surgery, was my old appetite and hunger come roaring back like a Bear coming out of hibernation! Hungry all the time. I was very discouraged and angry Thought I made a BIG MISTAKE! The more people told me I had to count calories, etc, the more angrier I got! BANDSTER HELL! I actually GAINED WEIGHT during this period.
Week #8 to #12 At week #8, my second visit, the Dr. asked me why I thought I had gained weight. I was honest, told him I was as hungry as I was before the surgery! He smiled, pointed to the Yellow-Green-Red chart on the wall, and said "This is where I want you to be" This is the goal.
He gave me my second fill, 2cc's for a total of 6cc.
This was the TURNING POINT! I was no longer in Bandster Hell. For this first time I felt that this was actually going to work! My portion sizes got very small, I finsihed my meals after eating very little and satisfied, and I was not hungry in between meals. My confidence rose, I became very optimistic. I started to excercise more frequently because now I felt I wa actually doing something productive! And I was loosing weight again, steadily, with little effort.
Problem was...it was NOT PERMANENT! It would come and go, from day to day. But I was excited because I KNEW it was there and I was not wasting my time.
Week #12 to Present 3rd visit with Dr. Pleased with my weight loss. Pointed to the Yellow-Green-Red chart, and asked where do I think I am at? I said borderline Yellow-Green, weaving in and out.
He gave me my 3rd (and final) fill, 1cc for a total of 7cc. He said he hoped that would kick me up to the green, and It DID! PERMANENTLY 24/7!
That was last May. Since then I have stoipped counting calories, stopped worrying about portion sizes, I eat when I'm hungry (which is not often) and I stop when I'm satisfied.
I won't say the last fill did not bring it's own problems and challenge...It did. But I was determined to work them out and not go back to "Sometimes" feelings I had one step before.
It took about 3 weeks of getting frequently stuck, along with all the other signs of perhaps being too tight. But then either the band settled in, or I adapted and changed my ways (latter more accurate) I fell into a "Groove" That was 8-9 months ago and have been living a "Normal" life ever since.
I consider myself a success. If I never loose another #, that would be just fine with me.
2 weeks ago the Dr. gave me 1/2cc. We both agreed I did not need it, but then agreed to do it just to see what happens. Well I started to loose again, slowly. But when I see him in June, I may ask to get that 1/2cc removed. I can always get it put back in at a later date. That's what I consider maintenence...the fine tweaking.
So there, that's my story. Yours may be different, or have different views. But the end result is all about loosing weight, and how you get there is up to you. And that's all that really matters.

I mostly agree with you B52. I think if someone decides, say, to get an unfill so that they can eat more, then they can't really complain if they gain some weight, you know?
Or if they don't want to go get fills, they can't really b***h about their lack of restriction.
But I think everyone should be entitled to make their decision on it. If you want to keep eating more, and therefore not lose, or even gain, who the hell am I to tell you not to? But OWN that decision. Live with the consequences. I have no issue with someone who gets the band then decides that that's not the lifestyle they want to live. But what I hate is people saying 'the band's not working' when it's really their choices that's not working.
I agree though with jayres that sometimes you need to be kind to someone when they're down. I think as heavy people we're so used to failing, so used to being helpless when it comes to our weight. But I always say, there are so very few things in the world that we can control, and the way we think is one of those things. So sometimes people just need a push in the right direction to get them believing in themselves again, and I think B52, from the posts of his that I've read, knows when someone just needs encouragement.
