I think i'm going to ask for 2cc's tomorrow! LOL. I feel no restriction. for my stomach. I have discovered though that chicken is no longer my friend. :(

I am at 8.5cc's in a 14cc band and don't have much restriction. My nurse has said most women in the practice seem to be around 11-12 cc's to be in the green zone. I feel close to the green zone but not quite there yet. Hope the next fill on April 9 gets me there. This doing it on your own through calorie counting and still being hungry is getting old!

I'm amazed how most of you have lots of "fill" in your band. My doc put 3cc's in, then after seeing it through x-ray, he took out a .5 out. I forgot to ask what band size I have but will the next time I go back. Like I said in my post above, I didn't notice much of a restriction after first fill until a few days ago and had some PB episode's which was exactly 3 weeks from my fill. Who knows.

Chrissy Lu: chicken is no longer my friend either. For now anyway.

Meredith...I think I'm a standard 10cc band and I'm filled to 4cc (I think. I've lost track). I hate that chicken has become my enemy...because its good, lean, easy to cook Protein. :( I'm experimenting with cooking it different ways also. My next attempt: steaming.

Chrissylu: funny you should mention steamed. That's what I had a problem with. I was ordering Chinese steamed chicken and broccoli before being filled. No problem. Always ate it even prior to surgery. The same week I was filled I ordered it and took a small bite, chewed and chewed until it was basically mush, and couldn't eat it either. Like other's on here have said, there is no rhyme or reason with the restrictions. One day it might not go down but the next day it does! I always enjoyed having chicken for dinner as there were so many variations of recipe's one can make. Plus, I always bought the chicken breasts from costco that were so easy to just thaw out before dinner if I forgot to take it out earlier. Bummer......Good luck with the steamed chicken.

NJ2NC, I think standard is 10 cc's, large is 14 cc's.

I am only at 7 cc's, bummer if I still have 4 + cc's potentially! Oh well, whatever it takes. I know it's different for everyone.

So I got my 3rd fill and he only put in 1cc this time. He says 24 hrs liquids and I've never had a problem before but I endd up acing like 1.5-2 cups of egg salad for dinner and had no problems. Don't think he did a big enough fill, normally he put in 3 cc at a time.

Ok January Bandsters it sounds like we are all a little stuck this week! I know I am feeling unmotivated and down and out lazy!! I think we should all post a goal for the weekend & support each other. I'll start

GOAL

Drink all of my Water this weekend

Create a new motivating workout playlist

Do at least one workout

I can totally do this!!ðŸ'ªðŸ˜„

I met my 3 goals for the weekend and did an extra workout!!

The only way I have been able to drink all of the water was to drink 24oz when I 1st woke up, then after I ate each meal I set my phone timer for 30 min then drank another 24oz. It worked!!

Nj2-WOW on fitting into a 14,I can't wait to get there!!

Kemisha thanks for the idea! I increased my calories over the weekend and will see how it goes on Thursday, that is the only day I weigh myself.

I have a 10cc band and only have 2cc and have never been restricted, they want me to wait until my next appt in 5 wks, but they said I can return if there isn't a difference in 3 wks, so I am going to try to get an appt on the 16th. It so crazy to have to wait so long especially if I will not be in the green zone until I am at 7cc, that is like 5 more months! Well at least I am still loosing!! It is all willpower and exercise.

Congrats everyone on meeting your weekend goal and 2 out of 3 is great!! Even meeting 1 out of 3 would be good, a goal is a goal!

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting, I don't go on lbt at work and work is all I so these days it seems. I have been keeping up with all the emails I get with each posting. I think the goals are a great idea, and we should keep them going! For this week, I will log every single morsel of food that I eat. I'm also go to try to keep my fat and Protein levels at acceptable amounts. My current battle is Water consumption...I've been drinking 64 oz a day for a few days. Also trying to exercise at least 3 times this week...one day down today! Cant wait for my fill on Apr 10th!

Hello everyone! Sounds like everyone has been doing so well! I'm stuck at a plateau right now and have been having a very hard time with motivation. I've been hungry and lazy, and don't like this feeling at all. I feel like I'm slipping into my old ways, and I've been feeling really useless over thr whole thing. I haven't been walking at night, for the past week or two. I was doing it and enjoying it, but it seems as if i can never stick with anything I ever do. I have been eating less, I suppose, than I was before, I do count calories and have been much closer to my target calories for thr day than before. Before I was so far under. Now I go right to the last calories and sometimes over. Since i lost 30 lbs, myfitnesspal has downgraded my calories for the day too, which sucks. I can't wait for my next fill, I feel so hopeless right now :( I know I can turn it around, but I feel like I'm running out of willpower

I think we all go through this. I went through about two weeks, where although I was SLOWLY loosing, I found myself eating a McDonald's cheeseburger. There, I said it. That feels better already! I think we just have to encourage each other and not be afraid to admit when we are in a funk because WE ALL GO THROUGH IT. I didn't realize the fitness pal changes your cal. intake for you? I was also not utilizing FitnessPal during my slump as well. I decided today was my day to get back on track. I wanted to be down 50lbs for my 3mos. bandiversary but don't see that happening, but I just have to remind myself, I"M the one that has to do the work. My band will not do it for me.

Keep your head up! Look at what a great job you've done so far! No regrets, just move forward! :D

I just thought of a bunch of little things that I can do now and thought I'd mention them to the only group that would understand

1. I can sit in an armed chair at a Restuarant without having to squish painfully into it!!!

2. From a seated position I can now lean over & pick up a dropped pen without my face turning red as I reach over the fat to get it.

3. I can carry a load of laundry up 2 flights of stairs without stopping to catch my breath!!

4. I can get off the couch without having to push myself up!!!!

Yah me!!

4/2/12 goals

workout 4 days, drink my 80oz Water daily & don't wait until I am starving to eat at work!!!

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
