Hoodia anyone??

Recommended Posts

Personally, I got the band so I'd never have to "go there" anymore.

So did I..my band worked amazingly well for me..however I ERODED and am now bandless. I lost over 100 lbs with my band in 19 months and Iam damed and determined to not gain this weight back so Iam willing to "go there" again to prevent it from happening and so far so good, today was my frist day with the hoodia and it has worked amazingly well for me..I have had controlled hunger and no jitters all day long, it was the best eating day I have had in weeks..I'm happy.

Everyone is different and things work differently for each individual..had I still have my band I would not need the hoodia, but bandless there is a huge difference in my hunger and cravings..it is incredible how well the band works.. the obsessi9on for food for me was literally gone when I had my band I was just unfortunate to have mine erode but I'm happy with the results I achieved with it..no doubt..reality is though it's gone and hunger is back...

You gotta do what ya gotta do! Every man (or woman) for himself. If I thought it would work in conjunction with my band, I'd try it, why not, I've tried everything else.

I think Hoodia is different than Metabo- whatever...it's been used in Africa for a zillion years by tribes people. I can't wait to hear how La Madam does on it...

Sure, I'm banded, but that doesn't mean that I'm not hungry.

Hey Michelle... hows the Hoodia working????

I told my friend about it and she went and bought some today at the local health food store. She and I found ANOTHER reason to try hoodia....

http://www.vitaminlife.com/product-exec/PNAME/Hoodia_Gordonii__Lab_Authenticated_/product_id/44995

in this link, this is what it says...In addition to eliminating hunger and suppressing the appetite Hoodia also seems to boost energy levels and counteract depression, some folks even report aphrodisiac-like qualities. The efficacy of Hoodia Gordonii has been established with a profound weight loss and a good emergent safety profile.

Ok, this sounds too good to be true. A pill that has it ALL. Eliminates hunger, gives energy, helps fight depression AND boost the sex drive?????

Im out the door... going buy a case of it. :bananajump:

Eliminates hunger, gives energy, helps fight depression AND boost the sex drive? That's enough to get me to shell out the $15.00 to order it. Mine is on the way.

Michelle, don't make me read through all these pages, tell me how Hoodia is working for you. Also, if you send me samples, I'll send you samples of Hydroxy Cut.

OKay my sister bought the stuff from GNC and it is inot working for her. No significant noticable decrease in hunger. She takes 2 capsules a day. She is pretty mad at me for talking her into buying it :grouphug::mad::P. She has been on them for 3 days:mad2: and it AIN'T working. It was 35.99 at GNC and it is called hoodia extreme I believe. I think I may have to give her the money back:money::bananajump::boxing:. I told her I heard about it being on 60minutes and she should definitely try it. It really is not working at all:ohwell:

Hey Dee Dee!

Tell your sister GNC will take it back if she has the receipt. Just tell them she is not satisfied. There may be some rules, but I've taken Protein powder back that was disqusting.

My closest friend also got the Pure Hoodia brand and says she takes 2 in the morning and it really kills her hunger completely. (she is not banded) She said she wont even take the next dose because she doesnt need it, that it just kills her appetite and doesnt make her jittery or anything. Maybe it depends on the brand and the exact ingredients? Or maybe it just works for some and not others, like so many other things. I ordered some and am waiting for it to get here. I hope it continues to give you an edge La Madam.

I definately agree that BRANDS have a lot to do with the way products work.

Chris,

from what Ive seen, Hoodia comes in different forms... liquid, veg. caps, and reg tablets. My friend bought some Hoodia on Friday at our local heath food store. SHE decided to get a SPRAY kind - spray on your tounge 15 minutes before you eat.

I asked her about it yesterday - and she is impressed with it. NO side affects so far, and NO appetite. :clap2:

Just letting you know that there are a couple of band friendly versions of Hoodia out there.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
