i hear ya on the clothing store. I agree also about the roller coaster. I once went to great america with a friend (male) stood in line for over an hour only to get there and not be able to fit in the seat. OMG! how embarrassed was I. My friend was wonderful. He took his ride. i met him at the bottom and he never once said anything, we went on with our day like nothing happened! LOL

Ooh! I'd like to be able to comfortably do a roller coaster again. I always tell my friends "I just don't like it anymore" but the truth, it's just not comfortable, or I don't fit, and it's embarrassing! I guess along with that sit comfortably in a movie theatre seat, and an airplane seat. It's getting a lot easier, but I want to not be touching the sides ahha.

My #1 thing is I want to be able to go in to ANY women's clothing store and buy clothes. Now, I won't ever be skinny mini, I'm a big girl, I'm tall. But I want to be able to buy anything I want from New York & Company, or Express a regular store. Hell, I'd love to buy some cheap disposable clothes from Forever 21! ahah

Ok, so this is embarassing but...

1) be naked in front of my husband and not feel shy

2) be able to fully participate in intimate moments (sex) with hubby

3) to just not have to wear clothes to try to hide flab. I know I may need excess skin removed down the road to fully accomplish this

4) to go hiking again

Well I would love to:

1) Shop for clothes anywhere I want

2) Tie my shoes (with the bow in the middle...lol...)

3) Re take my picture for work (a skinny version)

4) wear a tankini

5) walk a marathon

6) wear a higher heel shoe

7) buy a really good pair or trendy jeans

This is a terrific post.... There are so many things that I want to do which I have never been able to or at least not for a very long time. Although mine are not so adventurous but maybe those will come after I acheive some of my others!

So here goes not in any particular order:

  1. Wear shorts again (without thighs rubbing or shorts riding up)
  2. Cross my legs
  3. Not feel winded after walking up stairs
  4. Have more energy
  5. Go on the roller coaster (or other amusement park rides) with my kids
  6. Have less back pain
  7. Feel more confidence
  8. Not be self concious with regard to being with my husband
  9. Not have my shirts be tight in the arms
  10. Not need the seatbelt extender when flying

There are more I'm sure but this was my initial list! I can also sympathize with the tying shoes and having the tie be in the middle.... that's a good one too!

Great topic!

1) Shop wherever I want for clothes

2) Wear heels without my feet blowing up like balloons

3) Stop hiding from cameras

4) Have more fun during, uh, "private time" with fiance blush.gif

5) Being able to wear lingerie for said private time and not wanting to hide in the bathroom

6) Finally feeling comfortable in my own skin

7) Walking up stairs without breathing like a rhinoceros

8) Tie shoes without holding my breath

9) Cross my legs properly

10) Actually have a hairstyle that looks cute instead of one that hides my fat face

11) Do a boudoir photo shoot for fiance

12) Rock my wedding dress!

My goal was always simple. I wanted to walk into Victoria Secrets and buy a matching bra and panty set once I hit goal. Well I'm at goal now and we dont have the extra money for me to do it. :(

One day I would love a Tummy Tuck and boob job!

I'm being banded this Wednesday and I can hardly wait! Here is what my 'bucket list' looks like...

1. Sit in and fit into booths/chairs/roller coasters etc without fear of not being able to fit or breaking anything.

2. Being able to shop in any store and know that there will be something there for me to wear.

3. Shopping in stores like Victoria's sec./express/american eagle/gap with my friends and being able to enjoy trying on clothing along with them

4. Being able to cross my legs comfortably

5. Would love to be able to RUN and not feel like I'm going to die

6. Fit into old jewerly or special outfits that I've not been able to wear in years

7. Looking forward to feeling good in my skin again!

8. Wear clothing more appropriate for someone my age; esp skirts and shorts and not worry about the 'chub rub' (i heard it called that recently and had to laugh) in between my legs!

How fun is this???

  1. walk up the stairs to the top of the Eiffle tower in Paris
  2. Hike a few mountain trails
  3. ride a bike without feeling like I'm going to faint
  4. tummy tuck, thigh and arm lift. Still deciding on what to do if anything with the girls
  5. scuba diving
  6. and the list could go on.....

Things already accomplished:

  1. fly with the lap tray down correctly
  2. fly without a seat belt extender and fit in my seat without sucking in body parts
  3. fit in a booth
  4. walking small / large hills with walking paths
  5. buying clothes in a non-plus size specialty shop

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
