Rabbits and Turtles United New Year Challenge

Hello Fellow Bandsters,,

Whatever catagory you feel you fit in, you are not alone. We are all on this WL Journey together!!!!

I wanted to start thinking about next week. The new year has always aspired me to make commitments and try to do new and different thing. So I bring this to you all to help develop another challenge with a combination of other challenges so loved by all.

NSV and Weight in one post.

First Start Date, January 3,2006

End Date March 1,2006

Challenge is to list on the same post 1 new NSV (non scale victory) each week along with your WL stats. It would be helpful to date your entries.

The reasoning is to keep all your stas and NSV in one place for you and others who are cheering you on to follow. By going back and editing/updating your orginal post we would be back to basic each log in. Rememberng the whys and our accomplishments each week. Something I know I forget sometimes. By the end of the challenge we should have a great idea of how it's going and a quick reference to where we need to be.

If you are not yet banded - please join in and tracking your goals and accomplishments as well.

This WL thing is truly a team sport and together we can acomplish more!

ROAR!!!!

Any thoughts, changes suggestions??? We have a week or so to refine it.

COuld one of the moderators please sticky this?

Debby

I think I"ll just have my weight ticker tattooed in place, it's never going to change.

I had two NSVs this week. One is that I went to a party where I only knew one person. Big deal? Yup, big deal since I am terrified of groups people. It's not like they are spiders or kittens or something like that, but I have avery difficult time with groups of people I don't know, I'm very shy. (yeah, who would believe that?) But I went to the party, and I was charming and talked to everybody. I don't think my husband would have recognized me....

The other NSV is that I've accepted that I'm not going to lose weight. Not until this Cushing's thing has been addressed or resolved. But because I've accepted it, I don't have to stress over it. I don't have to beat myself up any more.

Oh wait, one more NSV, I need to take my watch to the Jewlers to have one of the links removed from the band!

2/13/06

NSV: I don't really have one this week. Hopefully I'll make up for it with 2 next week.

start: 1/3/06 210 lbs

1/8/06 205 lbs (-5)

1/15/06 205 lbs (0)

1/22/06 203 lbs (-2)

2/5/06 204 lbs (-1)

2/12/06 201 lbs (-3)

total: -9

NSV: I started intentionally parking on the 5th floor of the garage at work so that would have to walk further AND take the stairs. I have finally gotten to the point where I can literally jog up those three flights of stairs between the crosswalk and the 5th floor!

Oh, and exercise goal met! I kicked it up a notch and started exercising 50 min per day instead of 30 min. I guess that's what has helped contribute to the 3 lb loss this week.

1/03: 211 Exercised between 45 and 60 mins everyday this past week.

1/09: 209 -2 Went from Morbidly Obese to just Obese!!!!

1/16: 207 -2 Road my bike for the first time for 6 miles!

1/23: 207 0 I noticed yesterday when changing my son's bedding that I wasn't huffin and puffin my guts out. It was like no effort at all to manhandle his mattress.

1/30: 205 -2 I had a clothing swap on Sat. and I didn't try anything on, I just collected what I wanted. I finally tried everything on last night and I got into most of the 18s that I took and even a few 16s!!!

2/06: 203 -2 Huge NSV this week!! I took the kids to the park and I actually played with the kids. Chased them over the verticle monkey bars. I felt so much lighter! It felt great!!!!

2/13: 202 -1 My NSV is sort of a hokey one, I can span my back with just the width of my thumb and index fingers put together....I have never been able to do that before...I am amazed....lol. :-)

Start Weight: 220

Today's Weight: 214

NSV: Yesterday I went shopping and was able to fit comfortably into size 18/20's at Lane Bryant. Just seeing the number 18 on a tag was enough to keep me smiling all day.

No weight change. Vines, can I go with you for that ticker tattoo?

My NSV is that last week on my lunch break I had no idea what I wanted to eat, so I started walking. I ended up walking 2 miles, just because it felt good.

No scale movement this week.

start weight 305

current weight 290

-15 lbs.

NSV-I'm feeling better about myself! I actually went to a baby shower rather than make up an excuse not to go! And I had a wonderful time & got to see a friend I hadn't seen in a year & a half!

1/03/06 214 lbs

1/31/06 212 lbs

2/02/06 210 lbs

2/18/06 207.5 lbs

Well, my goal was to lose 10 lbs and hit 204 by March 1st. I might make it. I am glad I am tracking this here because I feel like I am not losing anything when in reality I am just losing it very slowly. I am weighing EVERY day, big mistake. I will see 209,209,208.5,208.5 etc.. and by the time it actually sticks on 208 I dont even realize I have lost an actual pound.

NSV My waist has gone from 43 inches to 37 inches. I cant believe I am admitting how fat my belly was, but I am so darn proud to have lost 6 inches around my waist!!! Cleaned out my closet and threw out tons of pants and skirts. Now for the butt and thighs to start shrinking.......

lived through an over fill had 1.5 cc put into my band for a total of 2.5 had to have 1 cc removed.. could not even drink protein without pain

1/3 200

1/8 202

1/16 199

1/26 198

1/30 198

2/6 197

2/19 195

I'm frustrated with how slow I'm losing, but when I look back it's been 6 weeks since the start of this challenge and I've lost 10 lbs, so that's not that slow. Anyone else felt like this? Maybe it's just lack of patience, maybe it's because I've been comparing myself again to others on the board whose weight seems to be just rapidly falling off.

Mostly it's just my fault -- I haven't been exercising nor drinking enough, and I don't always make the best food choices.

Anyway

Start: 240

Now: 230

NSV -- I'm not sure I have one this week. I'm tired, cranky and frustrated. My "big issue" is with my little girl, who is 2 and needs her mommy around. Between crunch time at work (i.e. needing to work overtime) and knowing she needs my full attention in the evening before bed, I am not making time to exercise. And yet I still want my weight to drop as if I were. Someone just bonk me on the head with something, please! Maybe i'll get some sense knocked into me.

2/20 202 No change. Cleaned house all day long yesterday and didn't have to stop every few hours to rest.

starting weight = 305

current weight 285

- 20 lbs.

NSV = I no longer am able to use my belly as a table when eating in the living room! Just noticed this weekend.

Well, I'm down 3 to 4 lbs (analog scale, can't quite tell sometimes), so we'll call it 3 lbs; 222 lbs current weight. Hopefully that'll hold.

NSV.. NSV... hmm... Oh! I suppose it's an NSV that I tightened my belt a notch last week, eh?

2/20/06

Weight = 220 (no change)

NSV(s): 1) On the plane to and from Vegas last week, I didn't have to struggle to secure my seatbelt, but rather had 6-8 inches of slack. 2) My hips didn't spread into the seats next to me causing the armrests to lift up. 3) My husband said he saw several men in Vegas checking out my ass!! LOL :)
