  3. Well here we are...my owner and I sitting here about to tell you stories of the not so famous...and for sure not rich. :-) Do any of you bands out there who have owners who refuse to listen to you...smart band that you are? I have one of those too. So now we have a slightly stetched pouch. We are going to have to be on liquids for 7 days, mushies for 7 more and a prescription for Reglan to try and get it back down to size. :-( The doctor said it was strange that we were continuing to lose weight and have a stretched pouch, but it was a matter of time before we manage to work ourselves right into a slip. We sat down to work through why this had happened. Turns out my owner ms i can-handle-not-following-the-rules thought that she could get away with going back to eating in front of the tv instead of at the table. Snacking way too much on popcorn and icecream. As well as other banded nonos. So fellow bands and the owners who love them, take a leaf from the pages of our book...follow the bandster rules or you might too end up where we are today. :-( Signed VG Lapband

Pouch Packing - When Enough Is Enough

Eileen...just keep paying attention to that full feeling. Don't let the tv distract you like I did. I am back into sitting at the table. I too am eating off a salad plate now and I am at about a cup of food. Sometimes I finish it sometimes I don't...I let my stomach tell me when I am full. If I eat it all and feel I need a little more...I go back for more protein.

Happy Easter, how did you do with food and candy???

I had a little ham, a little sweet potatos and some fresh green peas...i did have one small soft roll....but the problem area...cake...i made a pumpkin spice cake with pumpkin cream frosting...uhmmm..i did have a small piece. Not going to beat myself up...BB(before banding) I would have downed 1/2 the cake by now as well as stuffing myself with dinner.

    Call for Help!!!!!

I completely understand where you are coming from Mickie see my thread Memoirs of a Stretched Pouch in the Lapband complications forum. Going back to complete liquids for a week has really helped me. I have made improvements in my weak areas. The worst offender was eating in front of the tv. I know how hard it is to lose someone that was important to you. I lost my grandmother last November...I still miss her so much. I am sure that your mother wanted you to be successful with your band. So make Monday a new day to make good bander decisions. Huggs PM if you want to talk.

    American Idol

Ok..what was up with Simon...I thought Paris did pretty good and for him to say it was just weird...what kind of critique is that? I thought for what they were singing they all did ok. I mean Queen...come one...who in the hell was going to do well with that?? Bucky did get me going with Fat Bottomed Girls...one of my Queen Favs. I thought Chris did well with a song that nobody had ever heard...but I did wish that he would have picked a well known one so he could really let loose. I though overall that Taylor and Paris did the best. My 3 picks are....Elliot, Bucky and Kellie

What size do you want to be?

I started out in 24/26 and can now comfortable fit into 16/18, and some 14s ...I am on the short side...so it is going to take me some time to get into the smaller sizes. I am like Heather P, I think I was in 16s when I was in elementary school...so I really have no clue where my size will end up. I am tempted to go look for some 12s just to see if I can find some that fit. It really depends on the maker..because I have a pair of Levi's jeans that I still can't get into very well and they are a size 24...what is that all about??
  20. LOL..welcome to bandland...you know that was my first pbs too! Not on sushi thank god...but the darn chicken teriaki that was sitting along side it. Great writing by the way...saw the whole thing happen as I read..what a hoot. But I am sorry that you pb'ed after having enjoyed eating it so much.

denied medical insurance due to lap band!

I was denied additional life insurance by Metlife because I had lapband surgery. They said they would reevaluate my case 6 months after my surgery. They sent my letter of denial out 3 days before my 6 month bandiversy. But of course I will have to wait until January to resubmit for the additional life insurance. They had denied me 3 times in the past 12 years because of my height/weight ratio. *sigh*...just can't win for losing.

    Memoirs of a Streatched Pouch...

Shawn, I haven't slipped...knock on wood..I just have more of a stretched pouch then the fill dr wanted to see. He said if we didn't get a handle on it now. It could lead to a slip in the future. Currently...my tiny fill and the liquids really seem to be working for me. Although my family reunion yesterday was really hard to get through.
