October 2010 Bandsters!!

Recommended Posts

Well, I have 3 more days to go until surgery. Don't know what I'm feeling. A mix of everything. I had my final pre-op appt with the anethesiologist (sp) so everything is good to go. Just wish the family was more supportive. Just hoping to get through Monday without any problems.

Thanks to this board, I was able to get lots of info from reading a lot of posts.

Maybe I'll post Monday and tell you all how it went.

We all know how you feel. If you feel comfortable with the surgery, knowing that it is for your better health, try not to listen to the negative talk of others. I know it's hard because my children didn't want me to have it. But I know without a shadow of a doubt, that I will be in better health a few months down the road!

This is a great sight to learn from. Everyone is very supportive and compassionate. Ask any question and someone will be able to answer you.

Take care. Blessings, PitPat:wink:

You will be fine. I know what you mean about the lack of support, but interestingly, now that it is done, my partner is much more inclined to encourage and support me. Maybe it's because he realises it's too late now to change my mind, and he is going with the flow! Anyhow, I hope you have as smooth an experience as I have. I'm still feeling really good! And best of all, I have absolutely zero interest in food, which is just fantastic! Long may it last! :-)

Greetings, my surgery date is Monday 10/25/2010. I am not nervous or excited, just glad the day is getting closer. I started my liquid diet today and all I got to say is I thought I pee alot at night, but now I can add the day time as well. Good luck to all.

Good luck to you too oldguy. Yes the day is getting closer but seems to have dragged by this past week.

YAH!!! I'm glad you feel better about the liquid diet. After a certain time, you just accept it for what it is. Keep me informed and up to date and if you want to call me, that will be fine. I will have you in my prayers.

I feel better today than I have most of the week. That is a good thing! Not as sore...but still some swelling . But hey....It's all good.

Blessings,

Pat

Morning everyone,

I'm just back from a brisk 30 min early morning walk, and feeling great! I did take some pain meds before heading off though, as I figure it is better to get the mobility going, to aid recovery and results. To be honest though I haven't had much pain or discomfort really, I've slept through the past 2 nights without any meds, and am moving quite well.

I want to wish kimturk71 and lzj21248 all the best for your surgery today, looking forward to seeing your posts, and amazed1, not long now!! :blushing:

Start weight: 101.6kg

Surgery weight: 95.2kg

Hi Pit Pat - I was banded the same day as you. Feeling good but still feeling very tender by the port. Feel fine when I am walking but very sore getting off of bed or chair. Can't wait to be a week older - how about you??? Good luck...

Ish, thanks for thinking of me. Getting down to the wire here. In about 12 hours I will leave the house for the surgery center and come home with a whole new life ahead of me.

And I'm so glad to hear how well you are doing. I can only hope and pray I have the same results.

Best of Luck to Kim tomorrow also and all the good folks coming after. Cheers!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
