  1. after my third fill I had restriction, I have 5 cc's
  2. I thought it was just me! I'm completely amazed at portion sizes and how quickly people seem to eat. I guess now that eating is more work huge portions scare me!
  3. I was told nothing bigger than a tic tac again, everything else will have to be crushed. If its a capsule that cant be opened try to see if a liquid form of the medication is available. I take children's advil when Im in pain.
  4. good thread! I had no idea you didnt have restriction till about the 3rd fill, that the band was so fickle ( well at least mine is), I honestly think its not the easy way out! it takes lots of self motivation to work.
  5. bumping for you, I love band blogs! they help keep you focused.
  6. Hey mn! I had the same issue early after my second fill too, have you tried really small bites? If youre still getting stuck maybe go back to liquids for a few days and then attempt food again when you feel like it wont get stuck. I had to go on liquids for 4 days instead of 2 and then things went down easier.
  7. It seems like alot of us are having the same problem, on christmas I overate. However my body didnt get the memo till bedtime I spent about 4 hours in agony and then everything just went away? I'll never overeat again and I'm sooo glad the holidays are over.
  8. ...Did I miss something?? some of us should REALLY consider thinking before actually typing... Mumof2boys, Im sorry this is happening to you. I will put you in my prayers and I hope you make a speedy recovery.
  9. be mindful that not everyone has the same resources as you do, he's doing the best he can with what he has. If YOU dont agree just dont attempt it.
  10. Very true! it wont do the work for you!! you still need to do your part and thats how it works. I dont think the results would be as good without exercise and eating right.
  11. I think the goal is to not feel physical hunger. Once you do, youre just dealing with willpower and as we know lots of us lose that battle. Fills arent overrated to me, I think they're key. The reason lots of doctors schedule fills post op is that experience and research dictate that most people heal and are back to normal 4-6 weeks post op. If you aren't one of those people then you cancel the appointment and move it to when you feel you need it. I was told by my surgeon that you shouldnt be struggling too hard and fighting hunger too much...because then you could just be on a regular "diet". This is where the band comes in, when you have proper restriction you fight alot less with physical hunger therefore youre able to lose weight .
  12. I have a weight watchers scale, it cost me about 29 dollars on sale at bed bath and beyond. Its very accurate and measures BMI, water weight and all of that.
  13. Im seeing that lots of people are tight in the morning! Im on my first fill and feel no difference but watch what I eat. I have 1/4 cup of egg beaters with a thin slice of ham and tomatoes.
  14. I wish I had some to curb my seemingly monstrous appetite I dont think you'll gain unless you havent hit your sweet spot and even then it probably wont be the whole 28 you lost. I dont know about Dr withholding the fill, it seems like each surgeon has his own rules...
