August Rush in bandland!

I hope its ok that I started this thread over on the post-op side! Just wanted to check in to see how those who have been banded are doing?

Im 5 days post op and Im HUNGRY. This all liquid business is really getting annoying. I think Im dehydrated too but Im going in to see my doctor today just to make sure everything is ok. I was feeling nauseous and still running a low grade fever. I talked with the doc last night and she said she didn't seem too worried about it but wanted me to come in today just to followup. Im going to ask her about starting some applesauce, pudding or thinned out cream of wheat. I need something more solid in my stomach.

To top everything else off- Im having female issues and bathroom issues. I started my period a week early 3 days before surgery even though Im on the pill and technically not supposed to start until this week. And I have a yeast infection from the antibiotics I got in the hospital. And then with nothing but liquids coming out I have a hemorrhoid. SHOOT ME NOW.

And the worst was last night when I was taking care of some lady business and was trying to be real gentle with my insicions so I didnt stretch too much and hurt them- well I got the MOTHER of all cramps in my lower abdomen (down below my belly button) that would not go away. I was in EXCRUCIATING pain and it hurt so bad that I really thought I was going to black out from the pain. After what seemed like 10 years (but really only 30 secs) things started getting better. But I called my husband upstairs and had him lay down iwth me just to make sure I wasnt going to pass out.

Anyways, after last night Im glad Im going in to see the doctor. I think I need to get some gatorade to drink because im probably dehydrated but just want to check with her to make sure its ok. And hopeing she will clear me to eat a little something. Im tired of feeling so weak and tired all the time.

Thankyou!!!! how are you doing with your fill? is it your second? I go for my second on friday, and after the last fill i hope this one goes smoother!

Well the fill went great but am I ever having a hard time eating. Drinking is limited to only Water because everything else is just tooo much. The only thing I can eat without some sort of "stuckness" is fruit and yogurt. I am thinking I have too much Fluid, but the fill place is 2 1/2 hours away. So I am just winging it. Good luck on your fill.

Sorry I forgot yes it is my second fill but the first one doesn't count because there was no Fluid in the band when I went back. What they think happened to the fluid is that nothing went into the part but my body instead. The reason being that when they put the needle in it slipped out as they were filling it. (Due to unsteady hands, or when I sat up the needle popped out a little)

I have my 3rd fill tomorrow. I wasn't sure if I was going to do it, but I decided to go ahead. I'm worried that I've gained even more weight. The stress of my husband losing his job has gotten to me.

Having my second fill tomorrow.. I haven't really lost anything in the last 2 weeks. Been battling the same 1 lb. Kind of frustrating. I notice I'm not as hungry as I used to be. But I can eat more than I should. I don't do it because I stop myself. I also notice I have had a few short stuck episodes (usually left over chicken) but it has never come back up and usually passes through in a few minutes. So, I'm definitely looking forward to another fill tomorrow. I hope that will jumpstart my weight loss again. I did lose about 9 lbs in the past 4 weeks but again that was pretty much right after the fill.

I currently have 7cc in a 10cc realize band.

I'm just checking in...I haven't been on for at least a month if not more. I keep up more on youtube as I try to do that weekly. Anyways, I wanted to see how all of you August Rush types were doing a few months out. It's really nice to see that this thread is still here and it's really nice to see how all of your weights are doing.

I was worried that I was losing too slowly, but now I see that we are all right about the same and that's good to see. I wish all of you lots of luck and thanks for being there when I needed a little comfort in knowing that what I was doing was pretty much right on!

I had my fill today. I had only lost 6.5 pounds since my last fill. I was so disappointed in myself. The doctor asked me how I was doing, and I told him that I was disappointed in myself. He laughed and told me that I at least lost weight. That is correct, but it just wasn't enough for me. My scales are now back on track with the doctor's scales, so that made me instantly gain 3 pounds. That wasn't pleasant. That made me even more sad. Then there was a woman getting an unfill who was banded April 21. She had lost 127 pounds. I couldn't believe it. She said that all she was doing was following the diet.

Going for my second fill today! hope she finds the port . The Dr had to come in to show her last time. Im asking for an aggressive fill this time.

I've lost like 4.5 pounds in the past 3 weeks. I just don't have enough restriction. I go Tuesday for my third fill. I'm hoping that will help.

Good luck today! I hope it goes smooth for you.

I feel like I'm a slower loser than others that had their surgery in August. I just hit my 31lb mark yesterday when I went in. I had my 5th fill and am now at 4.5cc's. I had 1/2 cup of tomato soup yesterday at 12:30 and wasn't hungry again until almost 4:00, so that was a huge jump for me. I'm hoping 1 more fill to put me at 5cc's I will feel good restriction.

Kept up the good work everyone!

Stop whining about the scales! Be happy you lost weight! I have not dropped any nor have I gained any...finally, received my third fill and the doctor went aggressive. Finally, I have restriction and the scale is going down. Be happy all of you that have lost 20, 30, and more pounds in a short amount of time. You could be in my shoes...

I don't think the previous posters are "Whining" I think they are talking about their concerns in a forum where they can get positive feedback and understanding from others who have been in their shoes...

I don't know if it is a swollen stomach, or that big of a difference in my fill. I can tell a difference. I pureed some broccoli n cheese soup for supper last night. I put a cup in the blender. I was only able to eat 1/2 of it. That was after realizing at 4 that I hadn't had any thing to "eat" all day either. The only reason I realized it was because I started feeling whoozy. I'm hoping that this fill holds out until January 6. That is my next appointment. They can get me in earlier if need be, but I'm hoping I don't have to.
