no special diet required

Don't worry. My dr. didn't require any pre-op diet. Just stop eating and drinking by midnight. I'm almost 8 months since surgery. Down 75+ lbs. He did put me on a liquid diet for the month following surgery. Up until my first fill at 6 weeks. I guess that was to get me through bandster hell and to continue losing. Good luck and don't worry -Tara

Port pain 4 1/2 months after surgery
Hi all... I've been searching around internet for info and figured why not just put this out there for some feedback Had surgery aug 30...all going fairly well Every so often if I move in my sleep a funny way or twist a funny way or do something strenuous I get pain in my port. Sometimes I turn over in the night and feel this twisting like someone yanked my port... Anyway had that 2 nights ago and maybe a little last night. Today I have pain if I bend over...it's not red or anything like that. It's not a burning pain. I took tylenol and put an icepack on it. Any ideas? does this happen to anyone else? maybe I slept crazy I woke up with a stiff neck too....I'm also a little gasey (i know tmi). The pain is on my left side right below my rib right near my port. If I lay still it doesn't hurt... Guess just like to hear any thoughts Thanks for reading tara

Missed Periods
I was due about 5 days after being banded...never did get it that month...But now that I think of it...that was most likely due to the surgery itself? This month back to normal. So I guess I'll see in time

Banded Aug 30 - phneumonia :(
I received my band on Monday and tuesday I ended up in ER with pneumonia  So on top of the pain from surgery I have a cough that feels like it is ripping my stomach apart. I have been using the breathing toy and trying to do everything right. I'm now on antibiotics too and hope my lungs clear up fast ... Anyone have the same thing happen? How long till you were feeling better?
