August Rush in bandland!

I hope its ok that I started this thread over on the post-op side! Just wanted to check in to see how those who have been banded are doing?

Im 5 days post op and Im HUNGRY. This all liquid business is really getting annoying. I think Im dehydrated too but Im going in to see my doctor today just to make sure everything is ok. I was feeling nauseous and still running a low grade fever. I talked with the doc last night and she said she didn't seem too worried about it but wanted me to come in today just to followup. Im going to ask her about starting some applesauce, pudding or thinned out cream of wheat. I need something more solid in my stomach.

To top everything else off- Im having female issues and bathroom issues. I started my period a week early 3 days before surgery even though Im on the pill and technically not supposed to start until this week. And I have a yeast infection from the antibiotics I got in the hospital. And then with nothing but liquids coming out I have a hemorrhoid. SHOOT ME NOW.

And the worst was last night when I was taking care of some lady business and was trying to be real gentle with my insicions so I didnt stretch too much and hurt them- well I got the MOTHER of all cramps in my lower abdomen (down below my belly button) that would not go away. I was in EXCRUCIATING pain and it hurt so bad that I really thought I was going to black out from the pain. After what seemed like 10 years (but really only 30 secs) things started getting better. But I called my husband upstairs and had him lay down iwth me just to make sure I wasnt going to pass out.

Anyways, after last night Im glad Im going in to see the doctor. I think I need to get some gatorade to drink because im probably dehydrated but just want to check with her to make sure its ok. And hopeing she will clear me to eat a little something. Im tired of feeling so weak and tired all the time.

Okay guys I got 1 cc added today for a total of 5 cc's. I've lost 8 pounds in the last 4 weeks!!!

Afterwards I went shopping and got some new, smaller jeans!! I went to Old Navy. They are offering an additional 40% off all clearance prices so I got my jeans for $11.00 a pair and some shirts for $5.00 a piece! Can't beat that!

Thats awesome Amanda!!! Keep up the good work!

Thanks! He also asked what my goal weight was. I told him 150 or maybe 140 but the dietician says I should weigh 125. He said not to worry about the dietician that she's crazy. LOL He thinks I'd be perfect at 150 he said possibly even 160 but I'm leaning toward 150:)

We were on page 3, so I will bump us up.

Need to pack today to get ready for our trip on Saturday. It is always fun to pack for 6 people. Going to visit my husband's family in California, and I wanted to lose 50 pounds before we went. I met my goal. I am back to losing 2 - 3 pounds a week instead of the 1 pound every day. Sure do miss the 1 pound a day, but I knew that wasn't going to last.

How is everybody else doing?

Have fun! That's a lot of packing.

I'm back on food today after my fill and I'm starving!! Taking it slowly though. I don't want to end up sick.

tylee: what were you doing to lose a pound a day? I'd like to try some new things, but I want to keep it healthy too!

I wasn't doing any thing different than I already was. I had a major stall of nearly 2 weeks, and then the weight started coming off quickly. It was a pound a day for 2 weeks, and now I'm back to 2 - 4 pounds a week. Which I'm happy with. I'm happy with 1 -3, but I will take 2 - 4.

I eat on average around 900 - 1100 calories per day. If I go any lower than 900, I will not lose and actually gain. I keep my fat as low as possible, but on average I would say it is around 40. Carbs are kept below 100. I love my carbs, but I'm perfectly fine and content below 100. Some days are 30 - 50, and some days are closer to 100.

I have a question for you guys. Ever since my fill on Tuesday I'm burping constantly. Why is that?

I just ate a small piece of pork chop and some purple hull peas. I'm still hungry but I don't want to push it so I'll wait awhile first and see if I'm still hungry.

You're probably real close to your sweet spot.

I notice that when I am going past my capacity I start to hiccup or burp. I think I read somewhere that those actions are a sign that you've eaten to your capacity or maybe a little over.

I shouldn't have tried to answer this but that's my opinion :wink2:

The odd thing is my stomach is still growling like I'm starving but I have a full feeling in my chest, like under my sternum. It's weird feeling.

I just got my first fill and I feel that way as well. my stomach is full but my stomach still growls.

only took me two weeks to lose 4 oz ....lol my fill can't come soon enough!!!! and also GOOOOO Yankeesss!

Hi all..

Just checking in. I had my first fill on the 6th. I have 7cc in 10cc band. Here's what I notice. I was initially pretty tight...what an odd sensation feeling water drip through my band. I was on liquids for 2 days and then was ok eating. What I notice now is...I'm not really hungry most of the day. I do eat and limit my portion but I never really get full,,,I've never had that over full feeling or pb'd....I do notice since being banded I burp a whole lot more. I need to get used to this feeling. When I do start eating I enjoy it and could probably over eat but I don't. Anyone else have this feeling of not being hungry but not being full either??

I'm not complaining. I've started tracking calories on fitday...it's fun. I've been keeping calories on the low side.

I'm also doing the halloween challenge and was upset on monday to enter zero but by wednesday I was down 5 lbs must have been the water retention from eating out on Sat night.

Anyway I'm scheduled for a fill or appt beginning november would you want one in my case...?

Hope to hear more updates soon

Tara

Tara - I'm scheduled for a fill on the 4th, and I've been debating on rather or not to get it done either. I will hold off on making the final decision until the 2nd or 3rd, but as of right now, I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to get one. I think I'm at my "sweet spot" right now. I can go 4 hours without feeling hungry. I can actually go longer. I just know that I need to eat. The amount of food that I'm able to eat has dropped since my last fill. I don't want to be any tighter.

I went to Kohl's last night, and I'm having a mental block. I can not believe that I've lost enough weight to fit in smaller sizes. I never liked to try on clothes, but I know that I need to because right now I have no idea what size I wear. All I know is that 24s are getting way to big. I can take 24s off without unbuttoning them and pull them right back up. Last night I wouldn't try on any thing because I was afraid that they would be too small, so I ended up not getting any thing. I need to get over this block because I'm going to be running around naked soon.
