August Rush in bandland!

I hope its ok that I started this thread over on the post-op side! Just wanted to check in to see how those who have been banded are doing?

Im 5 days post op and Im HUNGRY. This all liquid business is really getting annoying. I think Im dehydrated too but Im going in to see my doctor today just to make sure everything is ok. I was feeling nauseous and still running a low grade fever. I talked with the doc last night and she said she didn't seem too worried about it but wanted me to come in today just to followup. Im going to ask her about starting some applesauce, pudding or thinned out cream of wheat. I need something more solid in my stomach.

To top everything else off- Im having female issues and bathroom issues. I started my period a week early 3 days before surgery even though Im on the pill and technically not supposed to start until this week. And I have a yeast infection from the antibiotics I got in the hospital. And then with nothing but liquids coming out I have a hemorrhoid. SHOOT ME NOW.

And the worst was last night when I was taking care of some lady business and was trying to be real gentle with my insicions so I didnt stretch too much and hurt them- well I got the MOTHER of all cramps in my lower abdomen (down below my belly button) that would not go away. I was in EXCRUCIATING pain and it hurt so bad that I really thought I was going to black out from the pain. After what seemed like 10 years (but really only 30 secs) things started getting better. But I called my husband upstairs and had him lay down iwth me just to make sure I wasnt going to pass out.

Anyways, after last night Im glad Im going in to see the doctor. I think I need to get some gatorade to drink because im probably dehydrated but just want to check with her to make sure its ok. And hopeing she will clear me to eat a little something. Im tired of feeling so weak and tired all the time.

That is what I was doing but then now I just am still hungry. I put a little on my plate will even wait it out then if I am still hungry I just get more. I am eating now probably as much as a "normal" person would eat without the band.

time for a fill!

I don't understand this band:( Last month I had 4 cc's and I had GREAT restriction for 2 weeks then it started going away. Last week I had 1 more CC added to bring me to 5 CC's. I have no restriction at all:( I'm starving constantly. Is that normal?

maybe restriction will come next week amanda.... i heard sometimes its a delayed reation. I don't go for my second fill till nov 5.

Well I am going for a fill tomorrow and hopefully what happened last time does not happen again. I am really hoping that this fill does me justice. because I NEED it. Wish me luck. And How are you all doing?

GOOD LUCK!!! I go on tuesday. I also hope this one does the trick!

Okay turns out my 2 little ones have Strep Throat. Now I'm running fever also so I'm off to the doc tomorrow morning. There are antibiotics we can swallow right? I mean I won't have to take nasty liquid stuff will I?

DDOW: Good luck to you also...

SPOIL: You should be able to swollow the pill. They are usually not that big.

Sooo.... I went in for my fill today. Had a BETTER experience then the last time I went in there. BUT.. The fluid that my doctor put in was not there. (The one from Mexico. If you remember fill center thought port was flipped so I flew back to Mexico but in reality it wasn't flipped the lady at the fill center just didn't push hard enough. Well today she got it. And used a different needle with NO PROBLEMS but the fluid the other doctor said was in there wasn't. So now I have to just watch and make sure it's not going bye bye's into my stomach. ) Life I tell ya lol.

well im finally at the 30 lb loss due to the stomache flu. Hit everyone in the house, with me being last. The only saving grace is the band kept me from the puking,phewwww. now onto my fill next week!!!!!

How are you all doing??? please check in!!!

Well sorry to hear about you being sick.. Glad however you are down 30 :wink2:.... Good luck with the fill.

Thankyou!!!! how are you doing with your fill? is it your second? I go for my second on friday, and after the last fill i hope this one goes smoother!

I need a fill!! We have just been away on a road trip and i have been eating almost as much as before my band.I have no fill in my 10ml band. I have to have a fill under xray as my port is surrounded by fluid and the doctor can't feel it properly. He is away for the next 3 weeks and doesn't want anyone else to do my fill so i have to wait till the 25th. I really need to get back on track, luckily we did lots of walking and climbing while away so i only put on 1 kilo (2.2lb) but now at home i will probably not be quite as active.

I am a bit worried about the port, as reading posts here, sometimes the port needs to be moved when a pocket of fluid forms (seroma i think it is called). Roll on the 25th.

Stress has invaded my life over the last week, and I found myself turning to food. Bad, bad, bad thing to do. Thankfully, I still have restriction, so it could have been worse. I only ended up gaining 1.5 pounds, but today is the start of a new week. I just have to figure out something else to do when the stress gets to be to much.

I started out with a Protein Shake, and it can only get better from here. I put the kids' candy up. If it sits on the counter top, I have a tendency to grab a piece. Debating on how long I will let it sit in top of the pantry before I just trash it.
