Good News (and we could use it!!)

Recommended Posts

We have had some real bummers lately here on the board....eroded bands, slippage, removal of the band, etc. I AM HERE TO TELL YOU SOME GREAT NEWS and it's all due to my lap band!!!!

Tonight my husband and I went to dinner at Outback Steakhouse....well, I can't eat all that steak, salad and potato...so, I said, "want to share"? Now this is a guy who could normally eat a side of beef himself!!! He said YES.....he said that since I am eating so much less he has come to realize the portions he is consuming are huge!!! It was great....we were both full, happy and had more money in our wallet then if we had purchased two meals. There was no upcharge for sharing which was great. So, how is that for great news.....I would love to see my husband healthier and more active....I want him around, I kinda love him!!!

Let's all have a great Thanksgiving....we all have a lot to be thankful for.

Margo..that is a good story,

I can so relate. My husband is 6'2 weighs 198 lbs and eat crap all day long and never exercises..and never gains an ounce but is a heavy smoker he has been having some severe health problems lately and when he found out about my eroded band, he felt horrible and saw the sadness and fear in my eyes of finishing this journey bandless..so he vowed to me last night to do whatever it takes to help me , he said he would exercise and eat healthier with me to help me to maintain without my band..I beleive everything in life happens for a reason, maybe me losing my band is the reason to get my husband to see his own fate with his health issues and his lifestyle..I want my husband around too..so if it means sacraficing my band to have him exercise and eat healthier then so be it. I'm glad your husband has seen the light..with his support you have nowhere to go but to succeed. :)

Thanks for sharing

That's fantastic, Margo :)

My hubby and I have started doing that as well. He may order an appetizer before the meal, if he needs it, but its definitely been better on our wallets!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
