100lbs down in 5 months!

I am so excited to report that since my surgery on Oct. 29, 2009, I have lost 102 lbs! I have 77 lbs to go to reach my goal of 170lbs, but it feels so much more within reach to have to lose 77 lbs than to have to lose 180 lbs. So far, my keys to success have been eating healthy foods for the purpose of fueling my body and exercising in enjoyable ways like Zumba. Our brains like to be on autopilot and stick to habits. I have become an interruption to my brain's habits and I am developing new, healthy ones. I feel wonderful and I am looking forward to posting again when I hit my goal. Good Luck to all other bandsters and stay strong and in control!!!

Thank you so much for posting!!! This really hit home for me, as we are the same height and were close to the same weight when we started. I don't see too many other women as tall as I am on the forums, and it was fantastic to see your pictures. You look great!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

that is awesome!!! How did you do it? Did you exercise a lot or count calories????

i lose about 2lbs a week with no exercise.....but i'm wanting to use my band to the fullest and lose like you....i have a 4cc band and my fill level is at 3.2cc

HOLY SHIT!!! R u kidding me???? That is an AMAZING amount of weight to lose in such a short time! Wow, I felt like I was doing well with my loss, not so much now. Keep up the great work!!!!

I had surgery about the same time Oct 30, and I have lost 45 lbs. Can you share what you eat daily and what type of exercise you do and how often? I also need to lose the same as you. I felt so heavy that even walking has been hard for me. I know exercise is now going to be the key for more loss.

Wow I am amazed, good for you!!! I am almost 2 wks post op, so just starting out on this journey. I just wanted to let you know, you have insprired me. I will definatly think of you on my walk today. I am sure it will push me to keep going, when I want to give up. Thank you. Good luck to you as you continue on your journey.

Sorry btrieger,

Your math is incorrect. Her starting weight was 349 and she lost 102 which make her 247. Her goal weight is 170 and it means she needs an additional 77lbs to meet that goal. Therefore, she knew exactly what she was saying. She looks great!

How did you do it? 100 lbs is alot to lose in 5 months! Congrats and you look fabulous!

That is fantastic!

I'm in the process of figuring out how to afford the surgery (ins doesn't cover it). Do you have any regrets? Did you have any problems with the Band? What's been the hardest part? Is there anything you would do differently if you had to do it over? Sorry about all of the questions...but I'd greatly appreciate your advice.

Keep up the great work....you're truly inspiring!

You look fantastic! Great work over this past year!

Congrats! You look amazing! So inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
