How much weight did you lose in the first 4 months

Recommended Posts

I personily think It all depends on how much you have to lose. I have 270 lbs to lose and in 4 months I lost over 100lbs. Its been 6 months and Im down 120lbs. It is starting to slow down now but I expected that:)

I was banded in Oct. From July-Oct, I lost 38 (pre-band), from November until now, I've lost another 46 pounds (so 84 pounds in the last 8 months).

You can do it - just focus and do what your doctor tells you :smile2:

Since my surgery on December 17, 2009, I've lost 45lbs. No real restriction yet, but as long as the scale keeps moving down, things are great. Like someone else mentioned, I think that the speed at which we lose, may have a lot to do with how much excess weight we have to begin with. Nonetheless, stay focused and stay on program regardless of your restriction level.

Best,

Lauren

20-30 pounds is SO doable by then! I'm only two months out, but I'm down a little over 30 pounds. I hope to be at 50 by the time my fourth month bandiversary comes around in May!

It definitely depends on how much weight you have to lose, but I think you can do it! Especially if you make the right food choices and stay active. I lost about 30 pounds in the first 3 months.

I'm less than 3 months out and have lost 24 pounds. Just follow the rules as best you can and exercise. And, if you have a choice as to how quickly you get fills, then be proactive about it and get a fill as soon as you think it would help you. I think your goal is totally doable. Just keep your eye on the prize. Good luck!

I am 6 weeks post-op and I have lost a total of 42 lbs since beginning this journey and I have not been happier. I have really learned to limit myself to healthier choices and I also keep active by walking 45-60 minutes, 3-4 times per week and I go bowling on Saturdays...keeping my metabloism working by eating 4-5 times per day (small meals and nutritious Snacks. I am back to wearing a 36" waist pant and comfortable in X-Large shirts. I have steadily lost 1-2 pounds per week. I visited my PCP 2 weeks ago and he told me that my cholesterol had decreased significantly but still had a little way to go...so he wants me to return in 6 weeks to see if I was able to lower it more so he would not put me on any medication. I know this will happen since I plan to increase my exercise by the time that I return to see him. I hope that most everyone is as happy with their choice as I am.

I was banded for 4 months and lost 22kg so thats about 48 pounds ( even though there were a few bumps in the road). 2 weeks afters surgery I lost over 10 pounds so I think 20-30 pounds is very doable. I am even a low bmier so I thought my weight loss was slow compared to others.

Good luck and have fun

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
