  1. my doctor reccomends tylenol, too, but the adult liquird only!
  2. In one of my support group meetings we talked about being tired. The dietician suggested to make sure you are getting all your protein in. She discussed that it is the lack of adequate protein that make you feel tired.... jus some food for thought!
  3. I had surgery on 11/19/09, so about 4 months ago. I have lost 54 pounds with relative ease. I am loving my band. just listen to it and your Dr and im sure you will do fine!!
  4. Well I wore my Sketchers to work today and felt like Forrest Gump.. I could have walked ( not run lol) all day! I just wanted to walk, walk, walk!! I have pretty bad OA in my bilateral knees and hips and a bad disc in the L5 S1 area and I had NO hip/ back or knee pain today. I got the gym membership and am more intrested in comfort and being able to walk without pain than anything. if it helps shape too, then awesome! Anyhoo, so far I reccomend them, we will see how it goes.
  5. Bought a pair of Sketchers Shape-ups tonight and cant wait to start wearing them tommorrow! Have some friends that have them and they LOVE them!! They are SO comfortable, even tryin them on. Anybody else have any or have any good or bad experiances? I hope to tighten those thighs and gluts before summer....
  6. There is no question at all in my mind. My doctor used the Dermabond glue so after about 2 months now, I am completely healed with a little pink line left. But honestly, for the way I feel now... I would have been ok with whatever kinda scar! The weight loss and all that comes with it, is SOOOOO worth it!!
  7. I also take Flintstone complete chewables, 1 in the am and 1 in the pm. Thats what the doc reccommended. I would prolly call my doc if i were u, dont take any chances!
  8. OMG!!!! I did it, I did it!!! I am under 200 pounds for the first time in as long as i can remember!! I need to lose 4 more pounds to hit my Valentines day challenge goal. I was banded 11/19/09 and after a larger weight loss, i am now losing 2-3 pounds weekly. I cant believe how much this band has helped me. It feels sooo good! Good luck to everyone in this journey! WE can do it!!
  9. I definately want in on this. I wanna say 10 lbs! I am at 204, lookin forward to bein in Onederville!! Lookin forward to this challenge...:smile2:
  10. Hey! Its good to see some fellow Charlottesvillians...lol! I too, had my surgery by Dr. Trahan at Martha Jefferson on 11/17/09! He and his staff are awsome.I had my first fill 12/30/09 and it was not at all like some horror stories I had heard. Actually it was pretty easy and painless!I have gone to some of the support groups in the evenings and they were pretty informative. Best of luck on your journeys and keep in touch!
  11. Hey fellow Virginians! Im from Charlottesville and had my Realize band placed 11/17/09 at Martha Jefferson by Dr. M. Trahan! I highly reccommend him. He and his staff are awesome! Good luck on everyones journeys!
  12. I agree with the pillow! I had a small kinda firm one and I lived with it against my belly for several days! That and flavored water were my two favorite must haves! Good luck and congratulations on beginning your journey!
  13. Hey all! Had surgery 11/17/09 and am doing well. Had my first fill on 12/30/09 and it was damn near painless. He did numb it first. I have had more restriction although not at that sweet spot yet. Still havent had any PB or sliming. I am loving this band. No more pain for a while and back to exercising, mostly walking. Went to Victoris Secret tonight...did I mention I love this band...lol! Hope everyone is doing well. Looking forward to a slimmer new year!
  14. My doc used Dermabong glue, it was awesome. Flaked off about 2 weeks after surgery. No trouble at all. Anyone else have that?
  15. Yep it DEFINATELY is worth it. I have been banded for about a month now. I understand how you are feeling and it took me a good week to feel better but now i am SO happy and losing weight.
