On April 24th I will be exactly 3 months out. I have lost 67 lbs since then and I feel great!!! I started out at 304 and today I am 237. I still have a long way to go but it no longer feels impossible. The one thing that I need to do that Im not is taking Vitamins. I know I know. I should be but I cant keep them down. I dont do well with Bariatric Advantage or Celebrate. Im just going to start doing the gummies I think. Some is better than none. I also dont eat a low fat or sugar free "diet". I do track everything I eat on myfitnesspal.com I try to stick to whole natural foods. Occasionally I have a cookie and its the real stuff. I try to drink either Water or unsweete…

Got my first ever brand-new bike - just for me and am having so much fun riding around the neighborhood! I had not ridden in about 40 years, so if I can do it any body can. I am having trouble recognizing me in pictures - I was always the heaviest one but not now. I love my band and my new life, though I would like to get work done on mysaggy stomach, breasts and arms, so now I'm starting to save for that kind of work.

So, I've been sleeved for 7 months now. I have been in a stall for a few weeks, but I'm in the process of changing things up a bit and I am hopeful my scale will be a little bit nicer to me in the weeks to come. However, there is SO much more to getting smaller than just looking at what my scale says!! I went back and made a bunch of face screen shots of how much my face has shrunk in the last 7 months, and even going back to when I used to weight well over 300 Lbs. I'd say at the end of the day, I'm a VERY happy and VERY successful person!! And here's to my last 40 or so pounds. They say the last of it comes off slowly, well I think I'm set in my ways now and…

The first goal I set for myself has been smashed in 6 weeks!!!! I am officially lower than my lowest lap-band weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With the band I lost down to 176 and this morning I weighed in at 175. Thats 20 pounds in 6 weeks. I got all teary-eyed and everything. I just couldn't believe it really happened. That band sucked so much and I had it for so many years - I didn't even realize what a drain it was on my happiness. Now it is gone and I can eat chicken again and the waistband of my pants isn't always pushing on my port - it just feels miraculous. And my restriction with the sleeve is spot-on. It doesn't change. Hi guys, I posted a topic about a month ago where I hit a stall. I just couldnt lose weight for nothing. I think I was actually gaining weight. Well I took some advice from some people on here and it worked. I was eating: Breakfast: one egg (usually white), 2 slices of bacon and maybe a slice of toast snack; orange juice or popcorn lunch: 1/2 tuna sandwich snack: 1/2 soda or 10 grapes dinner: maybe a snow crab cluster, or tuna, or 4 scallops or maybe a chicken leg snack: pork rinds exercise 1 hour a day (EVERYDAY) and I was not losing anything. well i changed things up. I started paying more attention to my calorie intake. I modified some things a…

I have battled high blood pressure for about 10 years, starting in my early 20's (scary to start so young) and in the last 5 years had it moderated with diet and no meds. It was averaging reading of 130's over 90's and pulse rate was usually in the 90's. The past week I've been monitoring my BP and it has been averaging 110's over 60's with my pulse rate in the 60's!!!!!! One reading was even 108/52......AMAZING!!!!!! Thank you sleeve, lol.

I like to think I can consider myself a success story, although I still have another 12 lbs until I reach my "Holy Crap!" dream goal of 150 lbs. It's been a journey filled with ups and downs, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. not only have I gotten a new lease on life, through my band and my blog I have met some absolutley wonderful ladies who have become dear friends. I wish everyone much success. If you would like to see my before and after photos, you can find them on my blog "Dreams of Skinny High Heels" (listed below) Regards, Stephanie Oh and my surgery date was 2010, NOT 2011...sorry for the typo!

I went to the lake down the street from me, and Kayaked with my sister!!!!!! We were on the lake for probably 2 hours. I am SO fair skinned and white right now, I used 110SPF sunscreen, LOL! I am almost 5 weeks post op. The scale hasn't moved for me since my 2nd week out. Luckily with pre-diet and a week post op I lost 30 lbs. This week I wore a pair of jeans and all day I was tugging and pulling them up! I came home and wiggled my hips and they fell to the floor. I couldn't believe it. Today I wore a pair of khaki capri pants. Once again I was pulling them up ALL DAY! I came home again and wiggled my hips and to the floor they fell!! I showed my husband my new trick both times. It is pretty funny. Not ready to buy new clothes yet, so I guess it is time to invest in a belt! My family likes to tease me with the song, "Pants on the ground, pants on …

Well, I've been saying I've lost "about" 100 lbs for a while now, because at ~95 lbs, that's true. But today, I tipped the scale at 229.8, which means that I've lost just OVER 100 lbs since my surgery last May. Huzzah! Plus, it's nice to be in another weight bracket -- the 220's -- again. And I'm really enjoying clothes that fit (and some attention from the ladies!) All good things. It's going to be a FUN summer!

  18. My inlaws were over yesterday and they can't believe how small I am this far out (I'm not even 6 mths out yet). Father in law got out of the car saying, "wow whats up string bean?" haa haa. Then the hubby told them to wait and see my pants that I have saved. Yes I kept my "big" girl pants to remind me how huge I was at one time. Well I put the pants up to myself and holy crap, I'm now half the size. So after everyone left I was kind of curious to see if I can fit in one pant leg. OMG I do, what the hell, no fricken way!!!! Hubby says he doesn't ever remember me being that big, awww how nice of him. But I need pics like this to prove to me that I am getting smaller, see…

Hi All, I was watching a repeat Dr Phil the other day and he gave us all a NSV. He was talking to a woman who had had WLS didn't say which. She was over 300lbs before and looked to be well in onederland. Dr. Phil said at one point "A lot of people think having WLS is taking the easy way out. I know that the opposite is true. There is nothing easy about it" Nice to hear.

My goal was to lose 150 pounds and be 150 pounds. I want to be 1/2 of what I was. I am halfway to goal with 76 pounds lost at 223 pounds two days in a row now. I am sooooo happy.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd EVER wear size 4 and 6 jeans. Tops that are mediums and some times even a small rather than 1X....a 2X felt even better! I knew I'd be thrilled with 12's but secretly hoped I'd sqeeze into 10's when it was all said and done. Then the weight started falling off and lickily split I was in 14's then 12's. I KNEW I'd wear be in 10's in no time. My goal was, my realistic goal was not a weight, it was a size - I was certain I could lose enough to wear a size 8 pretty early on. I couldn't picture it because my wedding dress (at age 19) was a size 9, but an 8, that was my dream!! Celebration took place when I got to a size …

So here's a fun "problem" to have since losing 100 lbs. I now really need to start buying tailored clothes if I want them to fit! Across the chest and shoulders, I'm still an XL. I can fit into some L shirts, but it's really pulling tightly in those areas. However -- and this is the amazing bit -- in the midsection, I wear a L and increasingly a M. So if I buy size XL shirts and jackets, they are huge and baggy and billowy around my stomach; it looks like I'm trying to hide a gut that I simply no longer have. However if I buy size L or M shirts, they fit around my tummy except that my chest and shoulders pull them so tight that they ride up and look like I'm wearin…

I attended two family funerals this weekend, one Friday and the other was Saturday. I don’t know how people in the rest of the country handle the passing away of love ones and friends. But in some parts of the south, there is something called the repast. This is where family and friends meet after the service. And there is food, lots of food, either it’s catered by professionals or each family member will bring or donate some type of food. Good ole fashion comfort food. Food items such as mac & cheese, dressing, turkey, chicken, Soups, sauces, ribs, potato salad, rice, cakes, candies and pies were just to name a few kinds of food which was in front of me to c…

Though my surgeon claimed the bypass is the "gold standard" in WLS, I am convinced my stubborn nature paid off in getting him to perform the VSG on me against his advice. Though my weight loss is not spectacular compared with others on this board, it has been mostly steady. My friend with the bypass has not lost any more weight than I have, considering the 6 week head start she had. Additionally, I eat whatever I want within reason and my friend has only a limited menu of acceptable foods. Though I am somewhat carb, calorie and fat conscio…

I've been dreading going because I really wanted to be out of the 20's for pants but wasn't sure if that could happen. You see, I gave up non stretchy pants long ago and went into xl ( mostly xxl) yoga type pants. I did have 1 pair of 24/26 jeans with a bit of stretch in them. I was so afraid I'd be dissapointed with my success so far and I really didn't want that. So I picked out some 18s and so 20s and off I went. They were too big!!!!!! I bought 2 pairs of jeans today. Right now I am wearing mostly 12s and I thought I would try to find a pair of jeans - a fun trendy pair so I tried on these brands: Miss Me, Big Star, MKE, Buckle, Silver etc. I was trying on anything from 33 waist down to 31. This is my only sticking point. I am not afraid of the actual surgery (self pay) or recovery ect.... Will this surgery help me NOT have hunger? Will this surgery reduce my constant need for sugar? They are probably the primary reason that I had this surgery last July -- I really felt like I needed to get my health under control so that I would be around as long as possible to take care of them and be happy and healthy while doing it. Anyway, last weekend, I came home from shopping and my son was in front of the house playing basketball. As I came into the house, I stopped to talk to him for a minute or two about who knows what. Woo-Hoo! = FINALLY HIT 199 today! After a frustrating 3 week stall with not even a pound lost ~ I decided to do Protein whey shakes for 4 days & that seemed to help me lose the 6 pounds to get me under 200. Hopefully this will be my jumpstart to continuing weight loss!

Not sure how much people normally lose but I was totally pumped about these 10lb! Wondering how the upcoming weeks (prior to stall of course) usually compare to week one. Anyone care to share their experiences prior to the 3 or 4 week stall?

I realized I hadn't uploaded any pics here in months... so I just updated my photo album I hope you'll check it out!!! I've been in that hard spot where I had to REALLY CHANGE my habits to keep losing, and I think I have finally found my groove, the scale is moving again and I am down 105 lbs today.

I am happy to share of the lost of 55 pounds, started at 275 in late January - as of today I am at 220 lbs. My goal is 200 but the charts and doctors says should be at 180. Maybe I get down to 190 and see how I feel. But today I am very happy. Have a nice weekend everyone, Lash
