HI... I am pre surgery and LOVE LOVE LOVE Water. Is it hard to get it down? I mean, I carry a huge container in my car and drink all day. I might really have a hard time if it is hard to drink water. Thanks!

Hi all - I'm booked in on October 15th for a revision to an Omega loop in South Australia. Sadly its actually it's a revision of a revision :/ and I feel like a big fat failure. I had a lapband in 2007 (initially lost 35 kilos of the 50 i needed to lose) but developed very unhealthy habits). the band caused me no end of trouble with constant fills and unfills to manage severe (choking in the night) reflux and ended up gaining back nearly 30 of those. I had it removed in 2012 and had to wait 6 months for my revision to a sleeve because the band had done so much damage to my stomach. Because of that damage, my wonderful sleeve surgeon did his best but was unable to ma…

Hi, I am having my lapband removed, had lost 30 lbs but gained it back, The lapband really never worked, I lost most of the weight through starving my self and drinking shakes. I have done a lot of research and the mgb seems like the best approach since it is reversible, which is very important to me and has great results with the least complication rates. If you had the mini gastric bypass, what was your experience after surgery? got sick? recovery length? how long after the surgery where you able to go to work? how much can you consume (portion size) 3 month,6 month and 1-2 years post op.? Are there any foods you can't eat? Did you lose more weight then …

Hello everyone I am in the process of researching WLS. I am leaning toward the Mini Bypass and gastric plication. I wold like to know please: what was the cost of your surgery? I will be self paying since I have no insurance. What complications did you have afterwards? (hair loss, dumping, leaks, etc) What you wish you had known BEFORE the procedure. Sorry for so many question but I need to calm some fears so I can schedule a surgery next year. I have a few co-morbid conditions like sleep apnea, acid reflux, bad joints, depression, sugar addiction and high cholesterol for which I am taking meds for. Thanks in advance

I originally wanted the gastric sleeve, but recently I keep seeing people who have GERD either have the gastric bypass or have a revision to the gastric bypass. So now it has got me wondering if the gastric sleeve is not the right way to go for me. I do not want to have surgery again later because the GERD is worse than it is now. So I was hoping people will chime in on this issue. Which surgery is the best option for someone who has GERD? It can get pretty bad if I'm not careful in what I eat, how much I eat, etc. I've been woken up at night from the reflux coming all the way up... so not fun. Is the mini gastric bypass an option? When I look at photos it seems l…

So, I was on youtube looking through videos because I'm feeling sorry for myself and my progress (I'm about 4 weeks out), and I see a video by a Dr. Rutledge. The video was about failed lapband patients who became mini gastric bypass patients. I was bamboozled so I googled it. Apparently, they kind of make a mini sleeve that bypasses a part of the intestine. Here is a link to a video about it. Has anyone else heard of it before? Am I just that out of the loop?

Hi all, A coworker says she is going to have a mini gastric bypass. I've read here that not many people choose it. Can someone explain to me just what it is? I didn't have much luck when I googled it. She says she's not interested in getting the lap band because she's not willing to go for fills. She didn't say anything about getting a plain old bypass and I didn't think to ask. . I have no interest in trying to change her mind, but I also don't think she's done her research, and I'm curious. . Thanks in advance. Debbie.

Any discussions for this procedure? Would love to hear from all who have had any experience with this. I was referred by the Bariatric Group ISA for MGB in Tiajuana with Dr. Mario Almanza and Dr. Andres Betancourt. Havn't seen any threads on above? any info. and info. on their hospital would be most welcome. Thanks, Brenda

Hello, I was looking around online and seen mini gastric bypass surgery. Its completed in 30 min's and your out of the hospital in 1 day. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this procedure, and if anyone has given it any thought of trying this instead of a lap~band? Please let me know, I'm now undecided between the two. Thank's for any information or advice you have or imput. Rhonda
