I'm 2 days post op sleeve & im experiencing major flush face

Recommended Posts

I think I would get seen by your surgeon ASAP, call them first thing in the AM. It could be an allergic reaction to the anesthetic or medication you received for pain, but aches in the extremities and skin rashes are never a good thing. If your tongue starts to swell, you have difficulty breathing, or anything like that, get to the ER immediately.

This happened to me after my endoscopy and it was what they used to relax my muscles with the anesthesia. I was sore over my whole body for a week

I had my surgery on Monday. Hv had same experience in my face. Mine happens late afternoon/ early evening and is accompanied by low grade temp. I was told a random low grade temp would be normal following this surgery. Anything over 101 was concern

Good luck. Just wanted you to know you're not alone

Me too! Had surgery Tuesday and I've had the same random flushed look. The nurse and I discussed it before discharge and she said it could be from the pain meds. No temp just flushed look.

I am an RN and it's probably a side effect of the drug decadron given by anesthesiologist during surgery-they give it to reduce Or help prevent Nausea post op. It usually causes facial and chest flushing 1-2 days post op-your face feels warm too.

Dont take my post too seriously.. But in oriental medicine they say that the internal organs gives balance. From what I know , without the stomach to control heat (stomach controls heat in the body), body heat rises to the top of the body, (which causes flushing and Hair loss and ice cold feed). I'm getting really worried that this will happen to me too.

I had this it was very uncomfortable I had red cheeks and my scalp was red and sore it was so weird. In my instance it turned out to be the painkillers I was on. I had two pain killers a slow release and a quick one for increased pain. For me I was having a reaction to the stronger pain killer and as I was about four days out and feeling ok I stopped taking it and stuck to the slow release and all good!! In saying that I still think to talk to your nurse/surgeon because I would hate for it to be something different.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
