Kim-

Thanks for the congrats on two years. I'll post a thread about it, and hopefully include some new photos in the next few days.

My fill is perfect! I don't have that constant feeling that I need to eat, and I can eat about a 1/4 to 1/2 a cup and I'm satisfied. Getting a fill was the right thing to do. I've already dropped a few pounds so I'm thrilled.

Megan -

Glad your fill is working for you . Just be careful not to lose too fast, or you will lose your membership in our exclusive little group here!

Can't wait to see the new two year thread.

Jenny -

Welcome aboard! You'll have to forgive us Yanks, though and convert your kg's to lbs :(

Lots of us have emotional eating issues. You've come to the right place. Good Luck with your band

candy - I pay for fills, too. And they are NOT cheap, so I hear ya. (and since my doc will only give a .1 cc fill at a time, I'm fairly sure I'm putting his kids through college, or paying for braces or something like that)

I like your attitude about making the band work for you.

I say - go get that fill! Work that band!

I'm going for another fill on Thursday. I've decided that I need to get agressive with these things. I spoke with one of the fill people at my doctors, and well, they are just as mystified as I am.

So, I see the interventional radiologist for another .5ccs which will put me at 2.25 ccs

Aw crapola. Between you and Candysmooch and Vines, I guess it's true, time for me to get a very small fill. There goes another $200 buckaroos. I'm not so worried about that, but an unfill is another $200 and I hate to risk a $400 fill. ARGH!!

Welcome Jenny! 7 kilos...aw, I can't remember the conversion...help! We need to see if you meet the very specific criteria for slow losers. :(

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS EVERYBODY..............CHECK OUT MY WEIGHT TICKER...........YEA THAT'S RIGHT LADIES - I JUST FOUND OUT I DROPPED 5 LBS SINCE MY LAST FILL 7 WEEKS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please read my post entiteled "This is WHat's Goin ON" to find out there!

So I actually called and cancelled my small fill apt. this morning since I've at least got the scales moving now - so I'm going to try workin this band some more.

By the way for whoever's trying to count up my pounds and weeks out - you can't kick me out of this club yet!! HAHAHA - don't think you can get rid of me that easily as I'm 21 weeks post op with a probable 14 lb loss so I'm still under the requirements for the club. :( I'm just soooo excited - this is my first real loss since banded - yea I had the original 8lb loss after surgery - gained back 4lbs before my first fill and have been absolutely fighting to get back off that 4lbs I had gained back so this is now my first real 5lb loss!!! Let's celebrate!

well guys you have made me feel better if you think i might be losing quite fast, when i hear stories of people losing 25 -35 lbs over same time period as me i thought i was too slow and when you think 2.5 is 1kilo then thats pretty cool

Sure thing Jenny. I think the hardest part about being a Turtle, especially for me, is when I read over and over and over about people complaining about how they've "only" lost 35-50 pounds in a few months. I know that I'm jealous and want that to be me, especially since I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do, everything I can do, yet I only lose so little weight it isn't even worth keeping a ticker.

A ticker for me, only serves to highly my failure at losing weight. So I don't have one, and I'm not feeling like I have that thing constantly showing the world that I didn't/haven't lost weight after undergoing WLS.

I'm rambling again. Sorry

I want to be in...PLLLLEASE. I was banded on June 7th and I have lost 20.5 pounds. I am BARELY over 1 pound a week.

Pretty please.

I have had 3 fills. First one was 1.4, Second one was 1.6 and now I am at 2.0 and I still don't think it is enough.

p.s. My slow sad story...I keep joining these "challenges" people have here on LBT but I can never even lose a damn pound to report back. I end up being such a sad and lonely turtle while all those d*mn rabbits report back rapid weight loss.

We hear you lins - not too many turtles join the weight loss challenges, or even keep a ticker for that matter.

You seem to meet our criteria of losing less than a pound a week during your first year of being banded.

Welcome Aboard the Turtle Train!!

Just remember - the turtle won!

I originally kept a ticker tracker, but it got so depressing because I wasn't losing anything and the ticker would sit there, accusing me, taunting me, making me feel like dog pooh because I wasn't "good enough."

Well, I got rid of the tracker, and I feel much better. I really do.

I Celebrate everyone who does keep a tracker, it makes it much easier to track their successes. I haven't figured out how to track my NSV list in a visual little tab.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
