Woo! I'm sexy!

Okay, so in the "Adult Content" thread, there was a little controversy and I said "I WANT to be sexy, but I don't know how, and I like that I have people I can talk to about that" or something similar to that. Both Megan and Crystal (Vinesqueen) came after me and told me I was sexy, I just had to believe it, and I was told to choose one thing that I liked about ME. I promised to report to that "tomorrow" which would have been Friday I think, and I never did, so I'm starting this thread so that other folks can join in too. :)

I like my feet. They are toning nicely somehow, and my toes don't look so stubby as they did before. They are also the only place on my body that I thought about without thinking "yeah but...". My calves are starting to get a nice shape, but they still need a little work, etc, etc.

So, those of us having trouble believing that we are sexy, need to pic at least one part of us that we believe is, and work on seeing more. Those of you who already know you are sexy, give us some pointers!

Wow! I'm Another Foot Person. I Guess Because They Are The Only Thing That Aren't Really Fat. Haha!:) I Always Thought They Were Sexy, Or Maybe That Is The Excuse I Have For Buying So Many Shoes. They Did Have One Little Problem After I Had My 2nd Baby. They Were Then In The Bottom 5!:) Now They Are Smooth And Sexy Again! I Just Put On A Great Pair Of Heels, And Then I'm One Sexy Mama!:D

Since I am feeling particularly unsexy right now, this is a good thread for me to jump in on.

I hate my feet, because my left one is puffy. The doctors don't know why, but it's been that way for the last 5 years.

I'll pick my eyes. I think I have great eyes.

Aww thanks Heather but no one has complemented me in years. You can check out my OLD picture on the picture thread, page 22. But thats not me anymore :) that NJChick doesn't hang around here anymore. BUT !!!!!!!!!! she will be back some day :)

If I had to pick one thing, it would be my nails, they are nice when I grow them out.

I also never thought that anything on my body was the least bit sexy. But, I had to pick myself up. My husband is great in the aspect, he always has a compliment. Now if I could only get this surgery!! BTW-I'm glad you have great nails, mine are terrible!! Def not on the sexy list! I saw the pic..you are very pretty, regardless and your DD is absolutely darling!!

NJChick, I gotta say I find it hard to believe that you've not gotten any complements in years. If you are anything like me, you get compliments, but they don't go into the permanent filing system in my brain. But this isn't about what other people think anyway! WE have to start thinking better about US!

From the neck up? Probably my lips. No need for collagen here! Below the neck? Hmm... that's tougher. My shoulders and arms, I guess. Definitely not my feet. They're huge: long, wide, and high! When I was a teenager, however, two older men followed me around and made bizarre comments about how sexy my feet were. I guess some guys like big body parts anywhere they can find them -- foot fetishists included.

Okay, here is the thing, it doesn't matter what you CURRENTLY think is sexy. NJChick, you don't think there is one sexy thing about you.

Guess what? You are right! Do you know why? Because you because you don't THINK there is anything.

Pick one thing and PRETEND it is sexy. Tell yourself everyday "I have a great ass." Or "I have amazing cleavage" or "I have the most lucious lips ever." Pick one thing, in the beginning, and tell yourself that it is great. Even if you don't believe it right now.

Look, one of the things we have to change about our weight is thinking that we are fat. Especially as we loose weight. We have to think differently about ourselves and our self image.

I think that not thinking or feeling that we are sexy is a form of body dysmorphia.

Excellent work Mari! Now that you have sexy feet, make sure to take care of them, and keep your piggies painted.

My sister thinks I have beautiful toes because they are really long. She calles them my "finger toes." She on the other hand, has cute little piggies, not freakishly long like mine.) See? I've been working on appriating my wonderful long toes, and not the freakishly long ones I have. Does this make sense?

If you don't think you have any little bit it sexy on you, you must start thinking you are sexy. If you don't want you, no one else will. So. FAKE IT FOR NOW. I'm serious about this. Pretend you have a great ass. Pretend you have the most beautiful toes, the most kissable lips, the most seductive eyes.

Try wearing long, dangly-changly earrings that rub against your neck or shoulders when you shrug. The windchime sound is very sexy. Same thing with beaded handbags, bracelets, etc. Wear V-necks with a long chain that bumps against your bosom, and add pretty scarves & trinkets whenever possible. When I look in the mirror, I certainly don't "see" anything sexy. But I got more attitude than most women, which makes me feel sexy. I don't even like my new blonde hair at all, but it's different and sassy. Be confident and shake it, Baby!

Absolutely. But we have most of modern Western society telling us that fat is not and cannot be sexy, and many (most?) of us had parents, SOs and total strangers telling us that we were fat -- and therefore unattractive, undesirable, unsexy.

Between American culture (when does the fat chick get the hunk? when is the fat chick anything other than the best friend or an object of ridicule?), our families, and our own regrettable belief in all this BS, it's near impossible to tune out the unsexy message and see ourselves as desirable. Those lucky enough to be members of the maligned SuchAPrettyFace tribe have it easier than most of our large sisters. If a woman has never heard that anything about her is sexy, she's going to have a hard time believing that she can be a hot mama.

This thread is a great start toward addressing an important topic. Thanks, Sarah and Crystal, for getting the issue out there!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
