Banded today and the pain is.....

Recommended Posts

ikerry, you are certainly lucky. My experience didn't nearly go as smooth. I was miserable for about 3 weeks after getting banded...couldn't hardly drink Water, let alone Jello, without feeling nauseous and oftentimes retching. I couldn't sleep on the bed for at least 3 weeks either, had to sleep in the recliner.

You are very fortunate. I wish more of us had such a smooth experience as you! I am happy to say that I'm doing better now, can eat and drink just fine, and have been sticking with the diet (down 23 lbs as of this morning).

Banded March 19th. Was feeling great in the hospital, stayed over til the 20th. Was up walking the first day...used little of my morphine drip.

Got home evening of the 20th. Started feeling not so good. Had mostly shoulder, neck and leg muscle soreness. Started feeling the band and something weird in my stomach. Getting use to "Larry" my Lapband. He is my main squeeze (other than my wonderful hubby).

Had a rough night last night (March 20th). Got up this morning and tried to take my liquid pain medicine and stool softener. Threw up. Ouch!

Having trouble getting my liquids down. Moved from Water back to ice chunks. Love the bullet blender. Having a bit of s.f. hot chocolate. Doc said it would help move my digestive system.

Any ideas how to take the stool softener? I tried the gel pill and it made me throw up.

Looking for another March 19th bandster to talk to!

Cheri

Hi Y'all.. I'm a St. Patrick's Day bander and I am doing great! My diet has progressed to full liquids, cream Soups being the thickest consistency limit for the next 8 days. I've had no surprises except I really didn't expect it to be this smooth after the surgery. I have been sore, but taken my pain meds about 5 times; the port area shows no inflamation/leaking but is quite sore.. that will take time to heal. My husband helps me get in and out of the recliner.. that is a problem and I finally slept on my side last night. I can feel the difference when I eat... there is no tight restriction but I can tell that I am full with much smaller amounts of food. I have had several episodes of dizzyness from the lower calorie intake but expect that to go away as my diet levels out. I hope everything keeps going this well.. I believe this is the best thing I have ever done for myself! Good Luck to everyone!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
