all of the sudden, less restriction

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I have a quick question: I've had pretty good restriction with the same fill for about 2 months. All of the sudden one day I woke up and felt hungary so I ate (duh!) well I was able to eat about twice as much as usual and it's been that way for a couple days now. Do you think my band slipped or something? Thank you so much to anyone who can help because I'm kinda worried now.

Hi Jennifer -

I haven't been banded yet, but from what I have read as you lose weight you also lose some of the fat around your organs which can cause the band to fit differently - you may just need a fill to get the proper fit and the proper restriction again.

Hi Jennifer

Don't worry, its quite normal. I know of others who this has happened to. I can be the opposite sometimes, medium restriction then really tight for a week. Make a note of when it happens as you may find a regular pattern. My menstrual cycle affects me, when I am due a period or when I ovulate, also stress is a major factor, these usually have the opposite affect to what you are experiencing however. If you have been banded fairly recently I would say that you may be due another fill. My advice would be to monitor it before seeking a top up.

Heather

My doc told me as I lose weight the band my get lose as well. I like both advice, probably weight loss, also caused by other factors. Give it time and take notes, look for patterns, get to know your "new" body:thumbup:

I had my surgery and 1 fill but I get my next fill next week and I have been at the hungry part with less restriction so I am looking forward to my fill on the 20th.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
