I was banded November 19, 2008. I have lost 44 pounds which is great but I have no idea where!!!! I tell everyone I think my wrist and feet have gotten smaller! I am not letting it get me down I know I will start seeing it in my clothes soon!!

I was banded on 12/17 and have lost about 15 pounds so far. People can tell in my face. I agree it seems to go from the top down. I am starting to see my collar bones again too. I am sure my Thunder Thighs will be the last to go and not without a bunch of exercise.

bigpapa2,

LOL, on losing your drawers in Walmart...now that is a clear indication that you are getting smaller

Congratulations on your success!

I know what you mean about the mind not keeping up with the body. I have had so many comments and compliments but although I know that I have lost weight, I keep thinking that everyone is just being nice because I don't really feel what they are seeing. The scale says that I am only 16 pounds away from being within normal range for the first time in my adult life yet I still think of myself as fat. I guess we will eventually come to terms with it...at least I hope so.

I have lost 11 pounds since the pre-op diet. I was on it for a week and I had the surgery a week ago. I don't feel any smaller but that is okay. It takes time. If anything my stomach still feels very swollen. My perfect fitting slacks hug a little too much in the waist right now. My port incision is right on my waist line too! Which blows! I still feel gassy too. When does that go away?

Yes you will have swelling so soon after surgery but you will notice changes real soon. In the beginning other people commented on my weight loss and my clothes started getting looser even before the scale showed any changes...I still haven't figured that one out, I hadn't been exercising so it was not muscle gain.

The gas is awful, isn't it? I have to say that it took several months for it to get better. I still have more gas than I did pre-band but it is not nearly as bad as it was just after surgery, rather than being constantly gassy I just have my gassy days where GasX becomes my best friend.

Butt, Face then neck so far. 43 lbs so far and only a 1.5 inch change in chest and belly. 10 inch change in butt in first month and I didnot have much of one to start with. Here at work they refer to it as Noassatall diesease.

Both myself and friends seem to notice my face first. After that my wedding ring didnt fit any more. Than I was walking around Walmart one day and my 3X sweat pants fell down to my anckles, right than i though hey i think my butt is getting a little smaller...lol... I'm over 100 lbs off now and to be honest I still see a very fat guy in the mirror. I wish i felt better about my progress but it is taking my mind longer to see the weight lose than it is taking my body to lose the weight. I hope my mind jumps in the game soon.

Big Poppa you made my day :) I'm LMAO !! I hate to say it but I would have paid money to see it!! I think it's harder for us to mentally see what is in front of us because we have been staring at it for so long. I read on another thread that his women went shopping (almost year out) brought home 3x and then tried it on and realized she could have doen an XL. It takes time!!

I've lost in my face & can see it in my waist too. The first person to really notice was our receptionist -- about a month ago she told me that I needed to stop wearing my favorite dress b/c it was way too big now! :) Never been so happy to hear that I didn't look good!! :)

Myself and others noticed it in my face first, then I began to notice a huge change in my legs, thighs especially. My big ol' tummy is still the biggest part of me and I see very little change in that area, although I know in my mind it has gotten smaller because I can wear 3 sizes smaller than I could prior to the surgery. My hands and feet are getting smaller as well but only marginally so. before my surgery I thought I was fairly proportionate (big all over), but while losing the weight I can tell mostly in my thighs....new clothes that I buy are tight in the tummy and waist but very loose in the legs. I guess things have shifted around and I'll probably always have a big tummy. Oh well.....I'm still 50 pounds less than I was when I started this, so I guess I'm happy with that.....only 60 more to go.

I was banded 12/19 and have lost 27 pounds so far. I've had people to tell me they can notice it in my face, but I haven't been able to tell anywhere yet.

I FINALLY noticed it myself today, but it was in my wrist! My watch has always been snug. I was driving home today and my watch felt really weird. I thought maybe it had come unhooked. I glanced down and it had slid around my wrist! Never has it been able to do that before!

So, a weird place to finally notice it, but I was quite thrilled!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
