Becca you are such a wonderful person to offer to sit with me! Unfortunately I live in West Virginia so it would be quite a trip for you LOL! If you could, just think about CMTurner and myself on Oct 29 and whisper a little prayer that we will both do well. How are you doing with everything Becca? I hope all is well and you are healing nicely.

CMTurner - I knew there had to be someone on here having the surgery the same day as me! I go to educational class today and I will msg you when I get back. Thanks so much for the information you posted on the other msg about the liver shrinking diet. I am going to go by that even though my doc only requires 2-day preop diet of Clear liquids. I am so happy to have found you so that we can compare notes before and after surgery. How wonderful this board is so that we can meet people! I gotta run to that appointment so I will be back later!

Yea! All I have left to do is pre-op testing on the 14th and of course start the liver shrink diet on that date too. I am so excited to have a lap band friend who is sharing the same surgery date. TTYL

Hi,

My op date is two days later on the 31st of October. Not the same day I know but I will be glad to share some emotional support with you too. Support makes it so much easier I think. :)

Support is good. I am ready for our surgery dates to get here though. Plus that would mean I have already went to dermatologist for skin cancer (basal cell so not THE worst kind) removal. I think they need to come up with a less painful way to numb you up.

But back to weight loss. We are all gonna do a great job!

And watermum, I love your avatar. LMAO You go girl.

wv gal how did your appointment go?

Welcome Watermum! Are you nervous, scared, excited? Probably all of the above! I am starting to freak a little. Maybe CMTurner and I will be able to post after we get home from surgery and let you know how things went! I hope I will feel like it..otherwise I will be hurting....and not excited about that.

Cindy: Are they going to excise the skin cancer while asleep during your surgery? This is weird...but I am having a lesion removed and checked for cancer as well..........sooo odd two things on the same day, two different people! I hope all goes okay with the results! Have you had skin cancer before?

As far as my appointment goes....All went good....I am a little nervous about being confused...LOL

I don't know when to start taking Vitamins....I asked and she said it is in a book I got...:)....ummmm the book is for gastric bypass patients...I don't know whether it is the same for Lap band or not...and of course...after that I felt discouraged to ask anymore questions. The "educator" also spoke about a guy dying from a blood clot the other day while walking 2 hours after his surgery....and I am spoked by this! He was 33 years old!

I am soooooooo confused about liver shrinking diet.......I only have a 2-day bowel prep diet!!! They said........if my liver is large..they will put in a bigger band. I asked if the surgeon usually uses Realize and she said no way of telling till he gets in and starts digging around! LOL...

I don't know how much I will be left owing after the surgery....which I kinda need to know if I will need the money the day of surgery or not!

I have a lot more questions running through my mind...but I better get back to work for now.

Keep in touch everyone!

wvgal - as far as taking your Vitamins, you can start taking them now or some say within a week or so of surgery. You can also ask or search for answers to any question(s) on here. I don't know what to tell you about the money thing. If they haven't told you by now, I am guessing they will balance bill you once your insurance pays. That way they will know the exact amount owed since they probably won't know how much of your out of pocket maximum you will have met prior to those charges being billed to insurance.

I have had a couple of other basal cell carcinomas removed previously. I am having the most recent (in my middle lower back) removed this coming Monday, Oct. 13th. I am betting she will also burn/freeze a couple more spots on that day too. YUK Right now both of my hands look like someone tortured me with a cigarette. I keep telling DH I am gonna tell everyone he did it. LOL Being light skinned and redheaded is not a bonus when it comes to sun damaged skin. I spent my whole life (last 39 years) out in the sun either on the farm or doing sports and of course we didn't even know what sunscreen was for forever. Worst part is these multiple issues with basal cell carcinoma increase my risk for melanoma. I haven't really spent any time out in the sun in the last year and a half or so. So much so that I have to take a prescription dose of Vitamin D to make up for what I am not producing by being out in the sun. But I have a really good dermatologist who isn't too brutal and I now try and keep a close eye on anything that looks suspicious. I am sure they will get it all again. I hope your lesion turns out to be nothing. Email me any time you wanna talk.

Hiya, I'm the 29th as well, though being in Aus, that's probably the day before you. I so can't wait!! I'm really looking forward to getting through this stage and onto the next.

Sounds like the 29th will be a great day for several of us followed closely by a few others. Before you know it we will all be SMASHING (and Smashing Pumpkins too). You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
