I need to recommit myself. I'm going to call my Dr. for another fill and get with it. Too much junk food. And I'm going to get my workout room. Haven't done anything down there for over a year..had a litter of puppies down there last year and then water/pump problems. But it is time, to get the ellipitical up and running. I also bought a denice austin workout DVD....I'm getting ready!

Sula,

I had the same problem, I realized that I needed to recommit myself. So I did just that. I made a plan and got a workout partner and have stuck with it now for almost 4 weeks!

I have one more fill scheduled and after this next fill, I'm done with fills. I give up! If I don't get good restriciton with the next fill, I'm not going back. So I'm hoping I get some restriction. They have tested me and tested me and no leaks, so not sure why I keep losing restriction. But I do have enough that I don't over eat, so I'm thankful for that.

I can't beleive we are now approaching THREE years with our band!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas! I'm 32 weeks preggo now, so things are getting down to the wire. I think I'm up about 25lbs this time -- not bad. I had hoped to not gain as much, but whatever. This pregnancy has definitely been easier than my first. I am just now starting to have blood pressure issues, so I'm on restricted activity (nothing strenuous, no stairs if I can help it, etc.). Other than that, things are good. How goes it with you guys?

Well my Christmas was good I got the things that I wanted. I asked for a Nike+ sportband, and my darling husband got it for me. Now I just have to get up off my lazy butt, today and use the thing. I hope everyone had a Blessed Christmas and Happy Holidays.

It's a sport watch that has a usb flashdrive that you plug into your computer and you can then upload your exercise, calories burned, and other goals that you set for yourself to your page. I know where my husband bought mine (dicks sporting goods) but you can even go to Nike+.com and look at them. I don't like nike shoes, so my sweet husband found a place on the internet that sells the pouch for the sensor and then you just lace the pouch to your shoelaces. I used it yesterday and have now figured out that my treadmill lies about the distance I run. They say the sportband is like 96% accurant right out of the box. I can believe it, cause like I said the distance on the treadmill is so far off, compaired to the sportband. I'm glad that this is what I wanted, and I will have to say that this gift is a keeper. I mean right now I want to meet my goals that I have placed into it for me.

That sounds like a pretty neat tool. And good for you for getting going. What are your goals?

I did get up and did a cardio interval training DVD...plus a short stint on abs and back. Man, I'm out of shape. But it is a start. Now I gotta work on what I'm eating. And I will.

I started out with simple goals for me...like to burn 4000 calories in 4 weeks, that one makes me nervous don't know if I will make that one...to do 10 runs in 4 weeks, that's an easy one for me unless life happens and I'm unable to workout...to run 14 miles in 4 weeks, that is also an easy one for me unless life happens. My next goal is to train for a half marathon, because I'm signed up for the Chicago rock and roll half marathon in August of 2010.

Hello all, hope everyone is doing good. I'm doing good on my exercise, just not so great at eating, need to focus now on my eating, I do pretty good all week, but weekends seem to throw me for a loop!

I'm going for my final fill today, this will be fill #20, and I'm fed up with it, I'm done after today. If I don't get restriction then so be it. I will have to live with what I have.

I've been exercising 6 days a week and have lost 5 lbs that I gained, I've lost 2 " off my waist, and another 2" off my hips. I'm hoping to lose another 5 lbs by my 3 year anniversary and this will put me into the 150's.

Well, I'll keep you guys posted on my restriction level, but I've pretty much given up on ever getting to the "sweet spot". Don't get me wrong, I do have restriction, but its not enought and I can't seem to get any more than what I have. I guess I should just be grateful and move on.

Confused - the nike sports band sounds cool, is it similar to the body bugg? I've been wanting a body bugg but just haven't broken down and bought one yet, they are $200. ouch.

Talk to everyone later.

Hey all..sort of good news...didn't gain anything since before Christmas!! That is a shocker...so maybe something was going right..but I sure felt like my stomach was poochy!!

Confused...great goals...I'm inspired. And they seem doable. Way to go.

Tonya..you are always a inspiration. I think the inches lost are terrific..even if the scale is hard to give up a few pounds. Geez...you work out like a mad-woman.

Juno, you rock. Only 25 pound weight gain..isn't that the desired amount for pregnancy? I don't have any kids, but I thought it was around there. You are certainly doing something right.

Question for you all. I got approval for breast reduction from my insurance co...Cigna. I found out, after the fact, that the guy who did my preliminary work, isn't a Cigna provider. The hospital is on my plan, but that doesn't mean the anesthesiologist and others are on it. Any suggestion on how to get the more covered by insurance? I'm not sure there is a plastic surgeon in MT who is on my plan...would that make a difference? I'm planning on talking to the insurance co..but they can't get contacted until Wedesdays....too very busy!! Sheesh...I'd love some feedback.

Hi Ladies,

Boy I waited a long time to join all of you. I guess better late than never!

So I was banded in Mexico (what fun) in Jan 2007.

I have had multiple fills/unfills (usually when vacationing)

I just got a fill today. I plan on keeping this fill until the end of August (we are going on a cruise):tongue2:

I need to lose 100lbs. Also I was just diagnosed with Diabetes last week( what a crappy Christmas gift THAT was). I have a thing about blood and needles,so I told my doctor that he can take it back- I REFUSE to be diabetic! While he thinks that is a great attitude to have he still put me on medication.

Does anyone else have diabetes?

So my plan for this new year, is to drink the Protein Powder twice a day, take my Vitamins ,exercise and sit in my dry sauna.

I normally lose 20-25 lbs a month without doing ANY of the above so I am hoping that by doing more I will lose faster and feel better.

I have promised myself that I will reverse this dis-ease ASAP!

I look forward to getting to know all of you and offering encouragement along the way.

I was for 2 years before surgery then like 4 months before surgery my family physician was giving a script for insulin...told him I wasn't going to take it, and went and had lap band...and the rest they say is history. I also had thyroid problems and was on medication for that, doctors told me you never come off thyroid medication..well never believe everything that doctors tell you, because I'm living proof that I don't need any medication..just vitamins. YOU will be fine, just drop the weight and watch all the other problems disappear like magic...just remember also the band is a tool, the more you put into working your tool the better your tool will help you.

Happy New Year everyone we are so Blessed we have been on this road for almost 2-3 years and are still loosing weight and getting healthy. I was banded and it was the best thing that I have ever done for myself. The band is a personal thing and it makes me feel like I have taken control of my life. When you take control of your life you become stronger mine, body and soul. I have never loved myself the way I do now I'm proud of me and that has never happened before for me. :wub:So I said to my Lapband Brothers and Sisters feel the love for your self and enjoy life don't sweat the small things about this band it is a tool that will keep on working until you said no more and we have come to far to say that.

God Bless all of you and yours in 2010 and my you always be true to your self:tt1:.

Rosalind Beswick--Band 1/7/08 lost 150 25lbs to go for goal down from size 30 to size 16 size 12-14 is goal:thumbup:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
