Whew! Finally caught up since last post. I need to get on here more often so it is not such an undertaking to catch up. You guys have lots of good news, that is wonderful.

Regarding liquids - I was blending up canned chili thinned with beef broth and vegetable beef Soup. That is much better than just Protein Shakes which seem too sweet after a while. I did 6 days of liquids for good measure and it seems to have helped a bit. I have not been back to doc yet so only going by how I feel. I eat every 2-3 hours also but no more than a 1/2 cup at a time. I do not always eat healthy and I do not exercise so my weight loss is slow but steady. I may exercise one of these days but not yet. My scale broke so I need to replace that before I know how I am doing in that department.

I am changing jobs soon! My last day here is April 29th. As long as there is nothing in my background that the new company has a problem with, I will start there sometime in May. If that falls through, I will temp and look for something else. I gave my notice too early it turns out but thought they would appreciate the extra time I was giving them. Instead, they pushed for a date so I came up with the 29th not knowing when I would start the new job. I am hoping for just 10 days or so off between jobs to clean house and such. I am really ready to part from this place. This should be a really good move for me - paycheck is the same, bonus is smaller but that is OK as atmosphere/people seem so much better.

Forgot to say that I believe I finally figured out what caused by stoma to stretch. It was the granola I was adding to my yogurt almost daily. It was so good! I never connected granola with bread - dumb, I know. I was making my own granola and know the oats are just toasted not cooked. It is the only thing that I really ate a lot of that could have done this so that must be it. I will think more about what I put in my mouth from now on. :)

Hey Allie...Nope not still losing, so that's good. Been maintaining for a few months.

I re-sent those photos. I looked and I had sent them to you a week ago last Thurs. Maybe they ended up being filtered and in your trash. That's where the b/4 one should be. I hate looking at it!:)

Before picture? I didn't get to see a before, you just sent me an after. I wanna see!

Well gang, I've been scarce lately. Been soo busy and it's getting worse. Tomorrow my folks arrive, next week is Grandma's 100th bday party. Folks leave on the 5th of May and we leave the 6th for our cruise. I try to read and keep up, but may be just lurking for the next few weeks. No I didn't vanish, this place is too important for me!! Oh and on Sat. I am speaking at my surgeons seminar. Weight is still at 118 but thta's okay, it moves slowly when it wants to these days.

Hey everyone,

Just checking in. I've had the worst sore throat I've ever had in my life. Finally getting over it. We had my daughter's birthday party the other day she turned 5, sniff sniff. Anyway, I ate way to much cake and ice cream, not looking forward to my weigh in day tomorrow.

Long, grandma is turning 100? That is awesome....have a great time!

love you all,

lucy

Hi Girls...

Long...I HATE my b/4 but I got brave with the last few ppl I sent my after to and included it. I will email it to you. Hope you don't get too stress with everything you have going on. Take care.

Lucy...so sad...our babies grow up. Enjoy every minute of it. I look back and when I was home with my two boys (went to work when they started school) it was my happiest time ever. Now I am waiting for grandchildren but the boys are not producing.

Brown...good luck with your new job.

Sorry this is short. I'm in the middle of ten different things this evening. Have a bunch of guys at my kitchen table eating supper and up and down serving them. Dessert is next. Talk to you guys tomorrow.

Hi Junies,

I have had 3 fills and my last fill was Dec. I have only lost 10 pounds since that fill and have lost a total of 45. I am working out and trying to eat properly. Sometimes I get food stuck so I thought I shoudn't have a fill. Someone told me the other day that I may still need a fill and the fact that food is getting stuck at times does not mean I have restriction. I can eat about 2 cups of food easily. What do you think?

Lynn

Good Morning Junies..

Back to work and the daily grind. We had a great weekend camping! I really needed some down time. I am burnt but relaxed! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I wanted to share a NSV.. I got whistled at 2 times and I got a "hot damn" from a homeless man on friday. I was pretty excited! LOL.. it's the little things in life!

Lynn - 2 cups sounds like you are not very restricted. You probably are getting stuck sometimes because you are not chewing well enough or eating too fast.

I would tend to agree with BrownBear. 2 cups isn't much restriction, you could still not have good restriction but still get stuck on eating too fast or too big of bites. However, before getting a fill I'd practice the smaller bites and slowing down as if you get more restriction and still do that (if that's the case) it could be pretty painful to get that stuck

good morning junies..

Lynn, I would have to agree with everyone above.. I definetly think 2 cups is to much and I actually would be more concerned with stretching your pouch with that much food. I would talk to your doc.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I started Softball last night.. that's right Junies, I joined a softball team and I had sooo much fun! I am super sore today but for a fat girl who hadn't played since I was 12 I did awesome if I do say so myself! The coach said he couldn't believe I hadn't played. I actually hit a double! I almost died when he said we had to run a mile but I did it! I am super proud of myself. My first real game is May 11 and I can hardly wait. I have to be honest and say that right before I had to go to the first practice I almost backed out. I didn't know anyone and was really nervous that I would be terrible. All my insecurities were swarming in my head but I went and I wasn't terrible! I don't know if I am prouder of myself for actually going or doing pretty good.. lol. So now I am an official softball player! I am playing sports holy crap! LOL .. have a great day Junies!

Good for you Allie in going and for being good at softball too!! WOOHOO!! This summer is going to be so much different than last summer. Just think last year at this time we were nervously awaiting our surgeries, pre op stuff, etc. And then were recovering from surgery for part of the summer. This summer we are so much lighter, active, and out participating in life!! I'm looking forward to it, though won't be joining you on no softball field! LOL

I've been scarce due to out of town company and as soon as they leave I leave for my cruise. I head to Barcelona one week from today!! WOOHOO!! Today I am taking Grandma (who's 100 on Friday) and mom and dad to Blackhawk to play some penny slots and have lunch. Mostly going for the pretty mountain drive, Grandma has never been in the mountains. Should be interesting at a buffet with the amounts I eat now. LOL

Hi Junies!

I'm popping in for a quick catch up session.

Allie - I'm so proud of you! A team sport! How cool is that? I'm not a softball fan, but I swam on a team in grade school, and I'd love to get back into the pool one day. (Pool access and time issues.)

Apples - Wouldn't it be a hoot to have a Junie Mary Kay Party? Everyone meet at Apple's house! ;-) Actually, I already have one Junie (who shall remain nameless unless she chimes in, I won't out her) who is my customer! Oh, and I want to see the photos! jfloyd at Marykay dot com. You and the rest of the Junies are my inspiration! I can't wait to get fit and slim like my Junie sisters!

Teach - I love my job! I've been a work at home mom/MK consultant for 20+yrs now. I'm setting a goal to earn my car this summer, and I just found out we're going to do another MK girlfriends' trip to the Caribbean (or someplace fabulous!), so I'm working on earning my way to that! (Fun, fun, fun!)

In band news, I had my 1 month check up and my surgeon is happy! So am I because I got her to clip off the stitch that popped out and was driving me crazy. I'm due for a fill in a few weeks and not a moment too soon! I think I'm eating wayyyy too much! I haven't lost any weight since I went off liquids. (I know, it's not about losing at this point, but everyone want to!) I can eat around 2 cups at a meal. I just had dinner and it was 8 pieces of veggie sushi and 4 inari, I ate half then the other half about 1.5 hrs later. I have lose about 11-12lbs since surgery. I'm up and down about 1lb for the past 2 weeks. Bah, humbug.

I'll probably take a couple of progress photos this weekend. I do have a NSV already. I bought some belts last summer after the surgery, and I put one on this week and it's almost too big! I'll have to get it altered before long.

That's it for now! ;-)

Always ;-)

Good Morning..

Hunzi~ you are doing great!!! Keep up the good work. I hope you get that car!

Long.. thanks for the support girl! You rock!

Junies where are you??? This thread has been pretty quiet lately..

I got on the scale today.. and drum roll... I had lost 3 and a half pounds! I am sooo psyched! I am finally at a point where I really don't think about food at all anymore. I eat when I am hungry and only eat a little bit. I have been really active lately due to the weather being so nice. I am so close to my original goal. I originally wanted to be 170 pounds but now I am thinking of going for more like 155. My hubby thinks I'm nuts. I am just going to go with the flow and see what happens. I think once my body hits the magic number I will stop losing.

Have a great day Junies.

Mornin' girls....sorry I haven't checked in much. Spent from Thurday evening till Mon morning at the lake. Went back early Tuesday morning cuz new furniture was delived up there. Stayed overnight wiht the dog and came back yesterday afternoon. Since that time have been racing around the house doing laundry, cleaning, baking, cooking, etc. so I can head out again today until Monday morning. I volunteer from noon till 6pm and then will head up. That pretty much will be my schedule till Oct. 31.

Long...I, too, will enjoy this summer so much more because I am so much more active. I just cannot believe how I can run a set of stairs and never become winded. Can take the dog on a five mile walk and come back feeling refreshed. Clean the entire house in a day and have enough energy to go out in the evening. Etc., etc., etc.....

If I don't have a chance b/4 Tues, Long, have fun on your cruise. Sounds like a trip of a lifetime. Also, have a good time with GM at the casino...how cute, 100 and playing penny machines. I can envision it!

Allie...good going on the continued weight loss. Nothing wron with shooting for that 155lb mark. Your body will know where it should be. Good going on joining a softball team. I'm 53 and honestly think I could do it again. Last time I played with a team I was 21yrs old. Isn't it amazing how much energy a person has? I believe a lot of it is making good choices and getting the nutrients we need. Not all the refined sugar and starches that make a person feel sluggish.

Hunzi...will forward b/4 and after a.s.a.p. Congrats on your 11lbs lost. You are on your way and I hope complications stay away!!!!!!

Yep, we can have the M.K. party at my house! Also, congrats on the 20 yrs with M.K. and nearing your goal of getting a car. Sounds like you really love what you do. I wonder some days. I really miss having my own business. I knew when I sold that it was best for our farm and other business we own. There are days where I feel like I've been lost in the shuffle and there is really nothing for ME to accomplish. Then, I look back on our crazy busy life when I was running two insurance agencies, we were farming and operating another business...I am crazy to think I would ever want to go back and disrupt the life we have now. So...........I need to feel satified with what I do NOW. Just really miss the interaction with people every day.

Well, better get back after it so I'm not late for my volunteer job. Hope you all have a good weekend and will check with you all next week.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
