yes, I agree it's a co-pay. When at first I got them I didn't know why, but I callthem and usually get through right away.

It's funny, because I've called always during business hours, but different days, different times. I figure it's a copay, but I've always paid mine. They finally returned my call today, but to show you how little they listen, they called me on my number they have on file, not the number I left on my messages. (I left a message a day for 7 days to be sure they'd finally call me back) Then, I called Jennifer and left her a message to double check. It's only $10, but I don't want to pay twice!!

How are you all doing?

Been so busy that I wasn't noticing the date…today is a year since I've had my surgery…well my first one at least.

I even though this year has been hard with all of my complications I know I would have NEVER been able to lose 70lbs without surgery. I still have a way to go but now at least I have hope that I just might be able to this.

I'm feeling frustrated & down today. I have only had one fill since sugery & felt some restiction. Today I was up a few lbs. I didn't have a good day. I feel like I don't even have my band & it's just me alone on some random diet again. Will it get better???

Heidi,

It's like anything else in life..you have to learn to live with it and get to know yourself with it. It will get easier, but it won't make the desire (and for some of us--NEED) to eat disappear. Get your next fill. I had 3 before feeling like it made a difference. Good luck! Stay on here...the people on this site and in my support group have kept my head above Water when I most felt like drowning would be easier. Stay with it. You'll get there. We all gain a few pounds here and there.... :tongue2:

Heidi...you are not alone. I had my surgery Sept 17th and feel the same way you do. I had lost 25 pounds since the surgery, but am playing with 5...up and down..it is frustrating! I felt NO restriction after my first fill and just had my second on Tuesday. I don't think this fill brought me to my sweet spot, but I feel a little tighter... hang in there and don't get discouraged!! We can do this!! :tongue2:

Thanks girls. I just feel like I'm losing motivation. I know my band can't do it alone & I have to work it but I just feel like I will fail again. ;) When I got my band I thought there was going to be a lot of "BAD" foods I wouldn't be able to eat anymore. I can eat everything still. I'm going back in forth w/ low carb or low fat  I don't know which to do.

Even tough I weigh myself every morning, I know it is not a good idea, since your weight is constantly fluctuating. It also takes time for you and your body to get used to this new way of eating and every person is different in how many fills they need. I have had fills and unfills due to tightness. I just had a fill last Monday and feel great to have reall restriction again. Before this last fill I felt like and did eat almost everything. this fill has put me back on track -- bringing with it another loss spurt!!

Just keep on doing what you ar being taught and I am sure you will see great results.

that right you go girl Heidi, we know you can do it!

we all can understand like no other, that fear of failing is always there for me under the surface but the more I stick with it the better it gets. Gotta reach that magical place of restriction and then it will be so much easier.

I had my third fill of the new band this morning, I am up 3+ pounds :smile2: and cant keep my portions (nor my hunger under control). Only logical that I would gain. Plus I can eat anything and everything with out a problem.

Dr had me make an appt for 2 weeks for another fill. I am hanging in there bc I do know it IS attainable having had restriction with my other band. Okay I am babbling….

Just a reminder the support meeting at the Brigham is tomorrow Tuesday the 18th.

OH, I've been living as if I'm not even banded lately. I don't know if I'm restricted. I do know that when I'm stressed, it's harder to eat. I eat the stuff I like, not the stuff I should and I wasn't really thinking about getting a fill for a few weeks, until life becomes routine and I adjust to my new normal...I do my best to eat Protein and drink Water. Other than that, I have a different scale and don't belong to the same gym as before--so no measurements and no trainer now. Just me....it'll be there for when I'm ready. Until then, I'll be there tomorrow night!

Tiny, you were there today AND are going back tomorrow, too? Dedicated woman!

Thanks Tiny!!! I didn't relize you had been banded before. So, you know it does work. :tt2:

What time is the meeting? I'll look it up. I would like to meet you all. It would be so neat to compare ideas & tips & thoughts in person. I live about an 1 1/2 from there though.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
