I don't see a thread under our month for NSV's. But althought the scale hasn't budged we shall all have Non-Scale-Victories!

My NSV

scale dropped...BMI dropped...it is unofficially at 39.1 BMI. I would not qualify for the surgery....if insurance was paying for it!!!!!:crying:

but will know officially on fill appt at surgeon's office-keeping that as my official weight-ins.

What NSV do you have to share with us?

Great thread 4jin.

I went shopping last weekend and actually found pants in the misses dept that fit. Granted they are stretch pants but they are XL none the less. The 1X in the same style was huge on me. I haven't shopped in that department in about 20 years. The woman's department is going to miss me.

I went walking yesterday and could actually walk up a long flight of stairs without stopping to catch my breath two or three times. I won't have to go looking for elevators anymore.

I too am waiting to go to the doctor's office for an official weigh in because I don't trust my home scale. It hasn't moved in about a week but I still feel great!

Hang in there everyone!

Love NSV's. Here are some of my fav's so far....

1. No seat belt extender on airplane 2 weeks ago.

2. Fit in "skinny" jeans which have been in my closet for 5 years untouched.

3. According to new BMI, am now only obese.

I have a confession! I was too ashamed to ask for an extender on my last trip so I tucked the end of the seat belt under my shirt and into the top of my pants so they would think it was fastened. That was a real low point for me. I'll be sooooo happy to ride on an airplane w/ no extender and not have someone look at me in dismay when they know I'm coming to sit beside them!

4jin:

NSV's are what keep me going from day to day. Here are a few I've had recently:

I can wrap a normal bath towel around after a shower.

My legs don't look like tree trunks anymore.

My fingers look long instead of looking like overstuffed sausages.

My favorite is that I have collar bones. They showed up about twenty pounds ago!

I look forward to reading these posts. It feels good to read others NSV's.

I fit into pants that didn't fit me a month ago. There is only a 2 lbs difference between what I weigh now and then.

My trainer told me today that I have at least 10 lbs of muscle.

I went home to visit family. Haven't been since before my band and everyone (even people who don't know about the band) commented on my weightloss.

BMI has gone from morbidly obese to obese.

My family are all big eaters and getting together is an excuse to stuff our faces

I was able to resist everything (I'm still on liquids) so I was very proud of myself.

I had to fly to Texas this past weekend. Last time I went on a plane, I was extremely uncomfortable in the seat. My hips pushed up on the armrest and although I didn't need a seat belt extender, I was too close for comfort. This time, I fit more comfortably in the seat and I wasn't even close to needing a seat belt extender. I think I'm down about 20 or so pounds from my highest weight.

Congratulatons, This kind of victory is almost better than seeing the scale move.

Keep up the good work!

I am wearing some pants today that I distinctly remember having to really suck in to zip up a few months ago. In fact, they got so tight I took them out of my "work clothes rotation." Now, they are actually getting a little loose!

Last time I got my nails done, the girls commented on my weight loss. No one there knows anything about my band or diet or anything, so that was nice. I think I'm only down about 15lbs since the last time I was there, glad to know it shows!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
