Calorie Counter - Free Online Diet Journal

I have been using this site to track my daily calories. It really has been great....UNTIL, I felt no restriction with my band. YEAH...not even pretty. This site tracks your daily calories....and I was having 600-800 calories a day...and yesterday it was a little over 2,000 and today I was around 1,700. Not even pretty. I still have to wait four weeks for a fill. We'll see how it goes.

way to go gibson,

this was just what i needed. i've been out of town working this week. i had gotten a fill one week before. i had such a hard time eating. i was giving presentations at Breakfast lunch and dinner meetings. the whole talk abd eat thing didn't work so well. i got stuff stuck several times. so i was grazing, and did i mention the deserts. why is it that they always seem to be soft and easy to swallow.

to add to the hell, i was 2 weeks late, and aunt flow finally showed her late butt up on thursday. the intensity of the cravings and the "i'm starving" feeling has begun to subside today. as of this am i'm up 2 lbs from monday....i know that Fluid has a lot to do with it, but i'm sad for the opportunity i've missed to lose weight. monday is a new day. by then aunt flow should be slowing up, and my Water and excercise regimen should be returning to schedule.

so glad to be back home...it's so much easier to manage here

Oh darnit. I have to come here and put a new confession here. For the sake of accountability, I'm forcing myself to admit my screw-ups to my friends on-line.

So, I had a fill Thursday - and was religiously compliant with my day of Clear liquids, my day of full liquids and the FIRST day of my mushies. Did great today until we got together with a bunch of friends for dinner tonight. They made homemade pizzas. I brought yogurt with me, and ate it while they ate the pizza. The smell of that pizza was just too much. I scraped the cheese and mushrooms off one slice (chewed it well) and ate it up. Shouldn't have done that, because one wasn't enough. Scraped the toppings off a second slice - ate it also. At this point, I feel like I've blown it already, so I eat a handful of strawberries and M&M's to round it out. (Thank goodness I had at least enough willpower to avoid the crust)

Luckily, nothing stuck, and nothing came back up. However, I am crazy full, and have wicked gas as a punishment. Note to self - avoid smell of pizza.

Okay, I have my first real confession. Today we went out for brunch. I hadn't had anything to eat yet and it was already early afternoon, not to mention the fact that all I had yesterday was a hamburger patty and two Protein shakes so I was pretty well good and hungry. I ordered two eggs, two strips of bacon and some hash browns. Well they got the order mixed up and brought me pancakes with my eggs and bacon so of course they left them there and also brought me my hash browns! Long story short, I ended up eating about half the hash browns, one of the small pancakes, most of my eggs and both pieces of bacon. Then! My son got a slice of pie and I picked at the chocolate frosting from the top! I don't even want to log my food as I know my carbs are through the roof! (Did I mention the maple Syrup? ) UGH. Tonight I had to get fast food for the kids so I went up to Wendy's and got them their burgers and fries. I got a large chili and only ate half of it so that one meal earlier was almost all I ate today. Hoping I didn't blow it too bad. The scale will let me know in a couple of days. Of course it will go up when I have my dr appt on Tuesday!

I think it maybe time for a fill. I shouldn't have been able to eat that much. I could have eaten even more but I pushed it away. I had really good restriction until I got my monthly visitor over the weekend. Then I started dropping pounds like crazy and it appears also lost what restriction I had. Hopefully a little bump will do me good!

:crying:Well today was my worse day since my lapband on Jan 24. I only drank about 20 oz of Water - had ice cream, jelly Beans and Cereal. Don't know what happened but feel like I just slipped up and made bad choices today. Hopefully, I will sit at my desk tomorrow and drink a ton of liquids!!!!! I have my second fill a week from tomorrow and I think I am in a real need of it!

Oh hey, I get to confess. Hurray.

At my parents' house yesterday (who don't know I'm banded, long story, nope, don't want to go into it now) for lunch. Couldn't eat much (dry meat, salad, fibrous stuff) but my brother made a sweet potato pie and boy did that go down nice. With a scoop of ice cream, although at least that was low fat and sugar free. Can't say the same for the pie. Looked it up on SparkPeople and it was over 400 cal. I don't want to go look at the fat again; I don't remember it. More carbs that I usually eat in a day.

For dinner my DH, who is my biggest junk food enabler, suggested fast food. Ate half of a french dip (cut into small pieces and dipped in au jus), a few of his fries and then...a chocolate turnover. Argh. Two Desserts in one day and I've only been eating sugar free stuff (with the exception of some 100% juice in the clear stage) for over a month.

I know I was stressed from the parental encounter -- and I eat out of stress. Learning to manage it but not there yet, obviously.

Ok, here's my pre-confession!

I'm going to eat a peanut buster parfait tonight! Technically I'm on mushies until tomorrow, but tomorrow is my fill, so I will be on post-fill diet for 3 days.

Not supposed to be eating ice cream, either, but a girl does need her vices.

I've stuck to this last 6 weeks of various diets (preop, liquid, puree, etc) better than I've ever stuck to anything in my life. I'm pretty proud of that. :sneaky:

You know, they say you shouldn't use food as a reward. But, I know me and I know that if every now and then I don't get to indulge that I will eventually feel deprived and that's when I will binge. I need to be able to satisfy that sweet tooth every now and then (maybe once a month or so) without feeling guilt. I have felt guilt every time I have eaten for a very long time now and that is something I need to shed myself of. I should be able to Celebrate my success or indulge like a grown up without beating myself over the head for "slipping up". Slipping up is going back to the way I used to eat. Not enjoying a sweet treat every now and then.

I say go for it, enjoy it, savor it, then get your fill and get back to business!

I literally giggle out loud when I read these confessions. Actually, I'm glad this thread is here - because even though it's funny, it is also embarassing to come here and admit to everyone that you lost your willpower (if only momentarily). I really appreciate having accountability with you guys. Better from you guys than from some skinny friend who's never wanted to eat an entire pot of macaroni and cheese in one sitting.

Angie & Karen - I'm glad you had a few fun meals and treats, because you are absolutely right - the 3 days of liquids and purees after a fill are tough. It's like re-living the bad memories of the days right before and after surgery. Can't wait to hear how your fills go!

Hi, everyone. Boy am I feeling discouraged. I was banded Feb 8th. Things went alongpretty well until this past week. I guess I've healed because I have wanted everything in sight (and some that I can't see). I cooked for a meeting and made boiled custard to pour over strawberries. Of course there was some left....Not much anymore. It has egg yolks as its base and half and half. It is soooo creamy in my mouth. I also made banana nut bread. It was mostly eaten by the rest of the family. It seems anything will go down...dadgumit! Now, when it comes to having my first fill soon I am afraid. I want to lose weight bet it just seems so hard. My doc has no sense of humor. He will not laugh. Anyone feel like they don't want a fill? I know I have to have it. I can takemy meds now without crushing them up and gagging (literally) them down. Yuck! Nothing has changed!!!!!

Nothing wrong with egg yolks or half and half as far as my doctor is concerned. I am encouraged to have real cream in my coffee as it has almost no carbs as opposed to milk. (not the flavored varieties of course). Don't be too hard on yourself. Just pick yourself up the next day and move on. As my nutritionist told me, there are going to be times when you are going to take detours on your journey, the important thing is to make sure you get back on the right path as soon as you can.

putting the FUN in DYSFUNCTIONAL...

okay aunt flow isn't quite done with me yet. tonight after having a good food an Water day, i for some ungodly reason ate cookie dough from my fridge

All my DH can say (Itold him the moment he came home-he even knows my real weight) is that well babe it had oatmeal in it that's some Fiber

i was laughing my ---- off and rolling on the floor. Here's the scarry part..i don't feel one bit sick wow i was convinced that i would likely have some immediate consequence.

Even chicken moist and tender has been sticking lately. I think I'm gonna have to go back to softer textures on my Protein.

Here's my commitment For tommorrow I have a lunch conference..have preordered Tilapia steamed vegs, and sweet potato. I will get in my Water, and will walk for 15 min.

Even still my bad day is nowhere near as bad as a good day was before my band.

LOL cookie dough is definitely one of my favorite treats and there are THREE packages of it in my fridge right now that I got for my daughter so she could make Cookies for her class on Friday. Talk about willpower!

You seem to still have a lot of restriction! That's a good thing! I think I have lost most of mine since my monthly visitor. I think I needed it to break my plateau though.

Keep up the great work and don't worry about those little detours.

Just keep on swimming!

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

        I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.
