Dr. Aaron Hoffman - Lap Band done in Buffalo, NY (Dr. Hoffman)

Had my LAP BAND done on 11-26-2007 in Buffalo, NY at Buffalo General Hospital by Dr. Aaron Hoffman. I've have had no problems what-so-ever and the support from Dr. Hoffman has been FANTASTIC. He is the BEST doctor ever! I would recommend anybody from the Buffalo, Rochester, NY area to have Dr. Hoffman perform the BAND! GREAT DOC!

Is anyone walking tomorrow with Judy and I?

Linda, its really sucky me not living closer but I am not able to come in tomorrow. Its my husbands retirement dinner tomorrow afternoon and I have to much to do. Probably after this week, it will be too cold.

Linda can you call me about 7 am so we can confirm the weather situation? I am concerned that it will be too wet (if one can believe the weather).

We usually walk in Buffalo because the group is distributed all over the city. If it is just Linda and I we could go anywhere. Como park is a little far for Linda but we could walk closer than Delaware Park most likely.

NBuffalo Girl, we expect to be walking through into December. It warms up as we walk. We are hoping to walk until it snows.

Big GurlX, was not sure if you were joking about all the good food if you are having surgery potentially in December or January you need to be on South Beach or something so you lose 5% of your body weight before the surgery. Just want to make sure they told you that.

yeah I was pretty much serious about the "food coma"... but i've lost enough for the surgery (16 lbs) from my first weigh-in at bgh. Dr. Hoffman seemed to be pleased with it..he says as long as I don't gain it back...(which I do'nt plan on doing) I should be fine for surgery. I would be lying to myself if I said I was'nt going to splurge a *little* during Thanksgiving, i'll be back on plan after that.

Lisa did give me a *tentative* surgery date of Dec 8th (my brother's b-day)..Dr H has to sign a few forms before she can send off to the insurance...hopefully I won't have a problem with bc/bs but we'll see

Wow, sound like your doing great.. Your on a roll now !! My surgery is Nov 11 and I'm kind of freaking out right now thinking what the heck am I doing to myself, but, I think its for the best.. I want to have a healthier future. Hope everything goes well for you.

Wow, everyone is moving to surgery so fast. Didnt it seem like it would never get here? You guys must be so excited!

My loss is slow, but I am not exercising enough. I only will have two days of exercise in this week!

judy,

i wont be walking tomorrow...but if anyone wanted to walk sunday i could do that

Yeah I know what you mean... I can only lose so much before hitting a road block and yo-yoing again...so I know this is the best option for me too. You'll do well Shar and by spring you'll be modeling off your new bod!

Beyond a doubt I am not sorry I did this, slow loss or not, it was a good move. I think the most important advice I can give the two of you is that you still have to work at it, but it really does give the added boost!!

Val, of course it is raining this am so I do not think we will be walking Saturday, and actually I am sick with a sore throat, but if the weather is good I would consider walking Sunday. I am not so concerned about the cold as the rain. Talk to you later or call me sunday morning if you think you will go.

Does anybody know if it is normal to still have pain two weeks later? At times it is enough to make me stop, sit down and put ice on it. I am only taking Tylenol cause I want to drive. I am not exercising. It hurts To yawn, take a deep breatrh etc. Now it just hurts period. It is my left side and my back.

Big Gurl, do not kid yourself. Maintaining is very hard!!!! I had to do it and it was tough.

One more question. Does anyone have gurgling where their band is? I THINK I had some hunger today. Or my stomach was upset from the protein bullet drink.
