Angelyco, sounds like you have a special person in your life. I have one also who supports me sometimes better than I support myself. It's just one of those things I have always kept to myself. My husband would not swoon and run for the attorney's office. In fact, if I bluntly told him he would not know what to do!! He gets that way when women talk about birth, periods, and female stuff. PA

Busywoman---if you feel a need to tell him, but don't want him to know, you just have to word it right then.....

When I was in labor and pushing out baby Joe I weighed _____--- but during the middle of my period I weigh_____!!!! He will never hear the #!!!

Men---gotta love 'em!!! 'Specially the ones who love us---ALL of us!

Kat, you are right, if I phrased it that way he would curl up in the corner and I would have to have him medicated!!! PA

Have you ever heard that it's important to have some element of mystery in your relationship? Well, that mystery would be: What does she actually weigh! Clearly, DH knows I'm fat -- he would never say morbidly/severely obese -- but as when the anesthesiologist came in for my epidural, DH had to leave the room when I had to tell my actual weight. :smile2: That was 10 years ago, and he still doesn't know the exact number...

When I had my gallbladder surgery last year I wrote my weight on a piece of paper and gave it to the anesthesiologist. DH did not bat an eye!! While we were at a weight loss support meeting last week I asked him if he wanted us to sit in one of the large chairs. He said, "we both can't fit in it", (he is tall and skinny), then he realized what he had said, looked at me, turned red and apoligized all night. I laughed because it was true and he tries so hard not to mention it.

I only recently told my husband as the pounds were coming off. I was proud of myself so I had to tell someone and who better to tell than someone who has supported and loved me all these years! I also make him look at how baggy my jeans are! LOL Poor guy, he'll probably be happy when all is said and done for more than one reason!

When I first posted my answer to this question, the asnwer was NO WAY! Well it happened tonight. After a week of vacationing in Fl my husband and I weighed in (separately) to see what damage was done. We have been on a very similiar diet and excercise program since I started my 6 month diet. I have lost 10 lbs since 11/07 on a good day and well now he has (after losing 1lb on vacation!! I know I thought it could not happen) lost a toal of 35lbs!! We started talking about he does not want to share his happiness with me, because he does not want me getting discouraged. He said no matter what you are getting this surgery. I see you struggle day in and day out without even results close to mine. He sarted on the I should walk miles a day and cut out soda (I only drink 1 caffeine free diet pepsi a day). I walk ast least 3 miles 5 days a week. I should be steadliy loosing. Anyway my husband while sitting the car tonight ask's (thanks to the disclaimer at the bottom of the Lapband commcerical "pts must be at least 100 pounds overweight to qualify for the surgery) "Are you even heavy enough to have the surgery???? I was like I know officially weigh more than you!! I let it out!! I was embarassed and shamed. I should not weigh more than a man. He was super like always and made me feel better. I think I had a break through I have never ever ever told anyone what I weigh, let alone a man. So the answer to the question is now YES he does know and I feel soo much better!!!:biggrin2:

I bit the bullet and told mine.....right before he went into surgery (minor)......after his happy shot. All he said was, "I still love you". That was yesterday. This morning we were laying in bed and I asked him if he remembered what I said and he said no. So I told him again and he said I did not begin to look like I weighed 251 lbs and it did not matter, he married me for my money anyway. (BIG joke) He then said he married me because of who I was and not what I was, he just wanted me around and enjoying our lives. (Sniff sniff) Yea, I'm keeping him!!!

My husband doesn't know for sure, but the weird thing is we are very close in height, he is maybe 2-3 inches taller, and when we stand together we look about the same weight. So, he probably THINKS I weigh the same or close to the same as him, which is 240. However, I weight 272. Why do I weigh so much more when he has more muscle and we look the same?

Wow I can't even imagine trying to hide the #'s from mine. But then again we met online and had a long intense relationship online before we met and I made it clear from the time it started to get *more then friends* how big I was. He always said it didn't matter. But of course I figured it would when we actually met face to face(my fears talking there). But It didn't.

And when we finally moved in together I lost 250lbs the first 2 years! Kept it off (6 years) too till this last couple of years when it started creeping back up slowly. Thanks to my being largely inactive cause of back and joint pain. He might not be able to quote my weight exactlyt but we do almost everything together including doctor visits and value each others inputs greatly when it comes to our doctor visits etc. We find that we tend to play off each other when it comes to talking with the doctors cause one will usually forget something that the other will ask etc.. Or think of questions the other won't.

I just can't imagine the one person closest to me in the world, who sees me naked on a daily bases, to try and hide something like my weight from.

I mean geeze at 440 lbs its no secret my weight is out of control. lol

He just found out that *technically* he is morbidly obese, he weighs a whole 230 lbs & 5'11 but he IS NOT fat. He has a barrel type chest and I cannot see him weighing much less then he does now without his ribs showing & looking anorexic. He has a small bit around the waist he could lose. Probably more like firm up. Maybe 20lbs or so but that is all. the rest of him looks great. lol

My hubby is so sweet (and naturally thin of course) he has been real concerned about my health for a long time, but never said much.

I would never tell him before, but I figured I needed to 'grow up' & get real and straight talk with him about my real health crisis. :incazzato: So I told him. He is really supportive and now I tell him each time I loose a pound:thumbup:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
