I like cottage cheese, why is it so hated ?

i dont get why people hate cottage cheese so much like its actually good, or are my tastebuds gone bad??, there's so much you can do with it too.

I’m not sure either. I will say some brands are terrible-maybe that’s why?! We have whipped cottage cheese here from a local dairy and it’s amazing! Like you said, you can make lots of things with it too!

I used to absolutely love it. Now, since my bypass, it tastes sour and rotten to me. Even when I try different brands, it just doesn't taste good. HOWEVER, I never used to be a fan of hummus, but now I absolutely LOVE it. Again, my taste buds changed. Super weird lol

There's only one brand in the UK that tastes good to me - Longley's .Funnily enough it's the only brand our dogs will eat too !!

I love it! The one weird long lasting effect I’ve had from COVID is that yogurt tastes metallic to me. Doesn’t matter the brand or flavor, it all tastes weird. I’ve substituted cottage cheese for my former favorite snack. Nearly daily i have a serving of it topped with berries and a few walnuts. Yum!

I'm a fan. It's a staple Breakfast for me post VSG. I like it plain and I often eat it that way. Sometimes I sprinkle black pepper on it (weird, I know.) I like it with fruit, too---the pineapple with tajin sounds awesome so I'll have to try that, but my favorites are with strawberries, or with blueberries and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Yum.

nope not weird (at least for. me, lol).

i actually prefer my cottage cheese savory vs sweet (so i'll add black pepper, salt, cayenne, garlic powder, and yes, i'll even top with anchovies, capers, bacon crumble, nuts, etc...)

don't judge me, lol

I used to hate it, but I realized there's a lot of difference between different brands. Some do taste like plastic, but I really like Mayfield 4% (yeah I know its too much fat) and Daisy 2%, which is now my go-to. They both seem really savory and pretty filling after surgery.

I also recommend whipping it, like others have mentioned. I use an immersion blender or a single serving smoothie blender to whip it, and make dips out of it. My family hates cottage cheese, but they will eat it whipped with some seasoning over chicken.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
