I wasn’t going to say anything, but honestly… I feel a little hurt by this post. At one point, I was 325 pounds. I wanted a baby more than anything, so I worked hard, lost 100 pounds through diet, and was finally able to get pregnant with my first child.
After I had my second, my weight climbed back up to 297. I wasn’t the mom I knew I could be. I couldn’t play with my kids like I wanted to, I didn’t have the energy to care for them the way they deserved, and I knew I was setting a bad example with the way we ate.
So I made a change. I got the surgery, fixed my eating habits, and got my butt in the gym. And now? I can do it all — and then some. My daughter tells me almost every day how happy she is that I lost the weight and can play with her and her brother. That hits me right in the heart.
I didn’t just do this for me — I did it for them. And I’m so proud of that!

How tall are you? Unless you are very tall 260 is unlikely to be within a healthy range. Check with your doctor about a healthy goal.

That being said, eating frequent high calorie meals and Snacks will result in weight gain.

Also, sometimes excess stomach acid can lead to that grumbly “hungry” feeling. Check with your team about an acid reducer. And do your best to follow their diet plan! They are the experts and give you the post-op diet rules for well-studied reasons.

TEN DAYS???!!!??? Oh man, that sounds miserable! I’d be getting out the big guns after day 3.

You look amazing, that color is gorgeous and you’ve got the hot mama bikini bod!

I’m currently on vacay in Dublin. No need for bikinis here!

I often still, even 5 years out from my VSG, will see something in a store and think “that’ll never fit me” or “no way I can pull that off”. Today I was out shopping for a holiday party dress and saw this. Made myself try it on and bought it! You can’t tell so much from the pic, but it’s a burgundy burnt out velvet. I can’t wait for next weekend to show it off!

Got a little too much sun today! Another little solo vacation to Cocoa Beach, Fl. I wore a bikini to the beach today and loved it :)

Out on my first date post separation and pending divorce. We’re getting drinks and visiting a farmer’s market. Probably should have picked a dress, but the sidewalks in the area are known to be real ankle breakers.

New summer dress. I love being able to walk in to a boutique and know the clothes will fit me!

I’m in the midst of a divorce. Although he didn’t cite my WLS as a reason, I think that combined with my recent plastic surgery led to him being incredibly insecure despite all of my reassurances.

I took 3 weeks off work after my arm lift/mommy makeover surgery. I felt like I would have good to go back after 2. Barring any complications, you should be totally fine at 8 weeks. Your scars will still be prominent, but easily covered by clothes.

We have a gourmet burger place near us. I love that they let me order their kids burger! Just as tasty as their regular burgers, but size appropriate for me.

Kid sized burger. I took the pic half way through but finished the entire thing.

I’ve recently started Peloton training when the Oregon rain keeps me from cycling outside. I too love the competitive nature of it! Love seeing my numbers go up against people around the world. The cycling community is awesome. I just completed my first 50 mile (outdoor) ride this weekend, working towards a 100 mile ride this summer.

Yes! Cycling is awesome. One of my true joys with my weight loss, being able to get out on a bike. I road bike, mountain bike, and have a gravel bike in the process of being built :)

I really love the Mondetta brand from Costco. 7/8 legs, pockets, high waisted, and nice thick material that holds their shape.

I’ve found the Aeropostale Curvy Premium skinny leggings fit well on a curvy figure. They also come in short which is good for me :) I think they come in long as well for those of you who are blessed with more height.

After my PS (I had a tummy tuck + breast lift/augmentation + arm lift all together) I went back to walking. 1 mile post op day one and added more each day after. It isn’t the heavy gym workout that you’re probably used to, but it kept me feeling active. You can add ankle weights for a little extra oomph to your walks.

I bought a wedge pillow set off Amazon. I had a large wedge pillow I used behind my upper body and a smaller wedge to use under my knees. I’ll second the scar tape as well

I recommend cycling! Mostly because I'm obsessed and I want to share my obsession, but also it's a method of transportation/form of exercise/easy to get into if you are out of practice. You could also cycle at the gym.
Also, I really love doing pilates and yoga. You can do it in your own home, you just need a mat and a youtube video.
