Any December 2023 Surgery Buddies?

Recommended Posts

My gastric sleeve surgery date is 12/19/23 and would love to connect with others having surgery in December so that we can support each other on this journey. 😊

December 4th for me. Started my liquid diet yesterday. I don't know if it's because I've cut coffee out or the fact that I'm stressed out with everything, but I can't stop clenching my jaw.

I noticed I was gritting my teeth a lot. I think part of it was caffeine, part was stress, but part of it was missing chewing things! sugar free popsicles helped a lot in the evening with this...

My TMJ specialist taught me this trick of holding the tip of your tongue between your teeth. Not biting down on it, but just resting it there on the edge. Mine usually rests there by resting against the back of my top teeth. Over time it breaks the habit of clenching because your tongue is in the way and it is also a nice neutral position for your mouth to rest in...

Glad to know I'm not the only one to experience it.

Question: Anyone have a fav. broth, Bone Broth, or recipe for one? Started my Pre-op liquid diet on Monday and the weather has been insanely cold. Craving something warm in my belly.

Had my surgery on 12/4. Not feeling much pain just incredibly weak. I’m not hungry or thirsty and I’ve had a hard time keeping awake. Todays the first day I’ve stayed up longer then an hour. For me, room temp or warmer liquids are easiest to get down. I hate sweet things at the moment.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
