Dead-end Insurance policies

Recommended Posts

I bought 2 different insurance policies to cover the surgery and both was not accepted. I'm still trying to find an actual insurance company that can provide the coverage I need. Yes I have my doctors referral for the surgery. Any recommendations or suggestions?

Have you tried Anthem Blue Cross? Also, have you done all the classes (Bariatric Orientation, Nutrition, Psych Eval & joined a support group)? Most insurance companies want you to join a Hospital-based program before giving approval.

insurance can vary widely from state to state, even from the same company or the same policy name. Are you working with employer provided insurance or from the open market/Obamacare (it sounds like it)? Finding an insurance broker can help sort through who pays what benefits for what cost - they get their commission paid by the insurance company, so it doesn't cost you any more than just choosing one off the web.

It's a lot harder to find private insurance that will cover bariatric surgery. I would ask your surgeons office what insurances they accept and then call each of them and find out if they offer bariatric coverage, how much a policy with them with that coverage costs, and what their requirements are for approval.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
