How slow do you guys ACTUALLY eat?

Interesting! I'm almost 3 weeks out and I feel like I eat fast, but then I realize it just took me 15 minutes to eat a Tablespoon of egg salad, so maybe I'm wrong. That would have been a bite before! But I can't just sit here and twiddle my thumbs for the 20-30 minutes I'm supposed to take for meals, so I do read or something between bites.

Ah this just put things into perspective for me. I'm only eating 1 small egg & a mashed veggie sausage mixed in & that takes me about 12mins, when before that would have only taken 2. I assume we'll reach the 30mins when we increase our portions!

Well, I finally found a food item that took me a longer time to finish. A Quest Protein Bar. It has 4 NET Carbs, meaning it has more carbs than that but the Fiber in it cancels that out. & wow those carbs really slowed me down. It took me 35 minutes to finish the bar which is the longest its taken me to eat anything post op. I bought these to use a regular Protein source but since I struggled a bit with them I think I'll save them when I'm further in my journey.

I'm 5 weeks post-op and need to actively practice slowing down my bites. Sometimes I forget I have a sleeve- I'll take too many "quick" bites and it makes my stomach feel like I swallowed a brick. I've been getting way too full way too fast because of it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
