Sounds good! The Protein count seems a little high though. It calculates to only 35g in my app. I just don’t want you being low on Protein.

I am going to try this recipe next week though!!

Thank you, I’ll double check my labels and the Baritastic App. I used members mark Canned chicken, good & gather brand non-fat Greek yogurt and used the gram weight of the eggs rather than large, med. I noticed there are some Protein gram diffrences between brands so I’m not sure if it is that or something else - but it’s a good point to verify those numbers. It really was yummy, I hope you like it!!

Post op day 5 and I am hungry lol I’m on Clear Liquids until Saturday and I’m counting down the hours until I can have yogurt! Doing well getting my liquids in, still somewhat sore, but they had a little trouble working around my liver so it’s bruised. Things are getting better every day, though—No regrets and happy about things to come!

Edit that recipe - to boost the protein I had 4.8 oz of chicken in that - not 3. That was my fault. I started with 3 and added more and forgot. 4.8 I think is the “serving” amount from that can.

Good morning! Here I am 3 days post-op. I finally got home yesterday afternoon, and lemme tell ya the 2 flights of stairs for my townhome and high pillowtop bed were not fun, but I'm so glad to be back to my daughter (almost 18) and our dog, who was over the moon to see me.

My doc's instructions in the 3-ring binder say I can start cloudy liquids (e.g., very pureed, low-sodium soup) + Protein supplements today. I've been doing well on my clear liquids intake so far. Haven't thrown up, no nausea, very careful to take tiny sips of Water but often, which I'll need to be extra diligent about now that I'm home and not on an IV. Fortunately, I was good about drinking water before the surgery with my Hydroflask always nearby, but now I can't "catch up" if I forget awhile.

I’m sorry to hear that. Your recovery is what I was expecting for myself as well. I hope it improves quickly for you.

It has improved a lot. I still feel nauseous when I'm hungry, and also when taking pills or if I eat too fast. But most of the day I feel ok.

The most difficult thing for me now, other than taking medication, is the no drinking until half an hour after a meal rule. Like today, I had some mashed cod for lunch, which was kind of dry, and then had to go back to work with a dry mouth and wait for the half hour until I could have some Water. I have a tendency towards a dry mouth, and have had to use sugarless gum during the time I cannot drink.

Hello, I had my sleeve surgery on 8/22. Overall I think I’m doing well. It’s been hard to get my goal of liquids in. I get a full pressure feeling in my chest that dissipates quickly. I think this is my new signal for being full. I have one incision that is rather painful. From what I’ve read this is pretty normal post-op stuff.

It's hard in the beginning to reach the liquid goal, but it gets better with time. I had my surgery two and a half weeks ago, and I can reach it now. Still don't reach the Protein goal, though, mostly due to my aversion to Protein Drinks and powders.

Do you have a large incision? I have four tiny cuts and they don't hurt.

I have 5 small incisions and one large incision. The large one is painful. I’m assuming this is the removal site.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
